This is looking interesting...

Thanks for the advance notice (I'm in Oregon); I'll set the VCR to tape it before I leave the house. A poly couple left last year's Wet Spot in Paradise to be interviewed for Oprah, so I'm wondering if that show has finally rolled around…or whether it's another of the FLDS-focused shows.

This seems to be different, but a follow up on the topic.  They are presenting it really well.  The first family had three beautiful wives and 22 children, all supporting themselves.  Next community is looking pretty well off and not on a peice of property, but major nice dwellings.  Even have a poly family husband on!

Looks like they are going to cover the more notorious families a bit soon...

It was a good show. This country really needs to stop trying to tell others how to live.

I hope regular people would not look negatively upon poly people, homosexuals, BDSM life stylist or any other people what every they were :)

That was a point that the poly guests made on the show today. They stated that there are so many Alternative Lifestyles in the US today that poly or "plural" families should be included in the conversation.

I watched it tonight.  The first few families were really well presented.  I thought Oprah did a great job asking questions and being open minded, and her audience seemed to follow suit.  The second half of the show was the more Latter Day Saints type of polygamy, and came across as less flattering.  But the first half was very impressive.  "Plural families" is what they call themselves.

I hate watching talk shows...

When I was channel surfing over a year ago I watched a talk show and they had this psychologist on who thought people into BDSM were "psychologically disturbed" and most likely were abused as a child and has hidden that abuse deep down and it is comung out through a sexual lifestyle. He believed anyone with an alternative lifestyle was having conflicts with their self-concept. This includes homosexuality and anything other than your vanilla man-woman marriage/relationship which he believed represented normal social functioning.

I dont remember what show it was, the guy was a closed-minded moron. I only watched a few minutes of it
