ORIGINAL: bipolarber The difference is, that Olberman can back up what he's saying. Yes, he offers his own comments, and is always careful to label them so. Unlike, say, Limbaugh or O'Riley, who quite often bend the facts to suit themselves, and their agendas. Yeah, Olberman's angry... aren't you? We're spending 2 billion a month on this ficasco. 4,150+ American dead, 60,000+ Iraqi civilians dead.... tens of thousands more maimed and injured. No evidence that this operation has had any effect on the "war on terror," except to make the US even more hated in the region, and for it to become a recruiting tool for our enemies. No weapons of mass destruction. It was all a lie. Bush, we now find, WAS involved with outing Plame, as a punishment to her husband for trying to tell the truth about Bush's lies. Bush has attempted to gut the US Constitution by suspending Habeus Corpus, and allowing torture of "enemy combatants" YOU aren't angry about having your country become a shadow of it's former self, while under the control of this spotted and inconstant man? You aren't angry about his almost retarded leadership, supported by his callow, cowardly toadies, these bootlickers that are his cabinet? What the hell does someone have to do to make you angy? Shoot your Pa, rape your Mother, and lock all your neighbors in the barn and then set fire to it? Perhaps i am confused, it happens from time to time. i would appreciate some enlightenment. Politics aside, i do recall some news stories. There are places where the lines seem blurred as to what prompted what, but there are also some results that don't get much play. Your view has me somewhat confused as to what you think, and creates a level of confusion and doubt on my part. Please do not take this as an attack, but truly a quest for enlightenment. i can not document most of this, as i do not remember where the impressions came from. 1. Were there never WMD in Iraq. it was my impression that there were weapons tested on Iraqi citizens (the Kurds?) by Hussein, as well as concern about their uses in gulf war I. i remember Isreal taking it seriously enough to have their citizenry seal their houses during potential bombing attacks. During the early stages of GulfWar II, there were reports of the use of Serin Gas weapons, few and intermittent, but i have never gotten the impression they were produced on a one of a kind, made to order basis. The question is, if they existed, ever, where did they go? The other question, would you turn your back on a loaded gun, especially if you weren't quite sure where it was? 2. Do you see 9/11 as an isolated incident, and do you believe that there were no other forays planned? My understanding was that there were 10 total teams planning such devastation. Where was flight 93 actually targetting? 1 team seems to have been stopped at Logan, When and where were the other 5 targets? Am i not supposed to view this as the bad guys locking my neighbors in the barn and setting fire to it? i do realize that the 9/11 team did not base out of Iraq. different crew, but with apparently similar goals. Just to note of a slight effect of the war on terror, there has not been a follow up attack on US soil. The combattants appear to have been tied up elsewhere. Among other things, the Constitution was developed to "Provide for a common Defence" it would seem that an "enemy combattant" does not care for that goal, but would be quite willing to use the ideas within to defeat his opponent. it is also not terribly pragmatic to allow a potential enemy to be aware of what one knows, or doesn't know regarding their plans and ambitions. Part of that is knowing what their agents have revealed in interrogation, investigation and/or intelligence gathering. My anger is more that some people want to forget the barn burning, and invite these folks back for a friendly barbeque. What am i not understanding?
