JohnSteed1967 -> its too late tonight to drag the past into the light (6/12/2008 7:16:44 PM)

Tonight at my house has been another rousing chorus, of Monday Morning Quarterbacking about my exwife and our divorce.

with out going into a lot of details, I 100% believe that my exwife's parents were guilty as sin when it came to getting her to divorce me. Not that she didn't have a hand in it but that they were sure there acting as the cheerleaders and the financiers.

My questions is this to the reader Do you believe that, God, Karma, The Universe, or other supreme deity that you believe in will render a Judgement on her parents, and pay them back for their deeds????

Nope. Parents will always do what they believe is best for their kids. Whether or not that benefitted you or not nonwithstanding they had her best interests in mind. And she obviously agreed, or she wouldnt have gone.
So, honestly, get over it. Dont worry about if God or Zeus or anyone else is going to command devine retribution becasue you broke up. Just move on and stop dwelling.

Yeah, that's the order of things!

Umm .. I believe that order was for beer.

As for the OP, unless they did it out of a desire to hurt you more than a desire for what was good for their daughter, karma will probably let it slide.  Sad but true.

no
and while you're hoping it happens, you're looking back ... let it go and move forward for what's best for you ...
while we all love to hate (or love) in the heat of the moment ... while you hang on to the hatred and hostility, you'll only attract others with negatives and repel those that could be positive to you ..

(for the science buffs i know i got the science wrong in the metaphor, however i think i got the message across)

Karma karma karma karma karma chameleon
You come and go
You come and go
Loving would be easy if your colors were like my dream
Red, gold and green
Red, gold and green

When I was in College I was living in the Dorms and my personal devil was a kid by the name of Costa. Costa was a prankster and a General Asshole. One night he pushed we way too far and I quite literally grabbed him by the throat and picked him up in the air, held him suspended and threw him against the wall.

Yeah, that karma things a real bitch. [8|]

Who signed the divorce papers?  I highly doubt her parents forged her name.  She's an adult, it was her decision to divorce you.  For all we know they may have had good reasons for supporting her decision.  You know he says; she says.

Any chance I can get in on the beer....by the way I loved and still do my in-laws,fully understanding that when push came to shove they were still my future ex's parents....we are still friends and I make it a habit to talk to my ex-father in law...besides I have this sneaky feeling that pisses off my ex...win-win all the way

MissMagnolia -> RE: its too late tonight to drag the past into the light (6/12/2008 8:24:48 PM)

Of course.  Karma's not nearly as painful when there's beer.

i'm sorry for the distress You're experiencing, JohnSteed.

To answer Your question: i'm a catholic.  Under my dogma, i believe if you die with a mortal sin on your soul, you will be forever damned to hell.

As an individual, i believe there's no truth to the axiom 'what goes around comes around'.  i've seen far too many P/pl commit evil acts and go on to prosper.

What i do think is that every evil act W/we commit accumulates in U/us like garbage.  One day, some P/pl will wake up and realise T/they are nothing but trash containers -- that T/their humanity has all been spent.  Maybe it won't bother T/them, but to me it'd be a living death.

No. But it also sounds like you married her parents as well as your wife which means you are better out of it.
