You can fix the wonky look by altering the "type" of browser your blackberry emulates. (Under browser options.)

Thank you all for your answers, you have been so helpful.
I think I am going to give the Blackberry a whirl.
Thanks again!

Blackberrys are pretty things, I'm jealous.
I can't justify the expenditure, otherwise I'd have one myself.

Update for Katy, Smith and all that posted.
I am ordering one today, CM will be the first place I go to when I start playing with
my new toy.

Blackberry Pearl
**Going through my cell phone carrier, it should only be $100, plus
about $20 more on my existing plan, we shall see.
Buy one Katy!
You need one!

I just bought a trac fone a few weeks ago.  I got tired of having to borrow my mom's cell phone every time I made a trip.  It's more than sufficient for my needs, plus I don't want to be tied to a contract as I already pay for my son's cell phone and it's a necessity for him.
Part of me likes the Blackberry because it's such cool gadgetry, but my practical side always wins the battle.

I understand Katy.
I plan on using mine A LOT.  The PDA will help me organize my life, numbers, to do lists, etc.
I am hoping this will actually help me have a more cohesive life.
If it helps me accomplish some of my dreams, {I even plan to use it for work and school}, then
it will be more than worth it.
As with anything else in life, you have to weigh the costs.
p.s.- My nephew is on my plan, so I feel your pain.

I was just thinking, cell phones really ARE a necessity for most people these days.
When was the last time you saw a public pay phone?

I'm using my pretty Pink Pearl right now for access, but I can't get into my CM account at all. It just keeps looping me from the permission screen to profiles.

I used to have zero problem, who knows what happened? ~shrug~ I wish I could fix it, but it's not the normal type of issue they deal with at the Telus store! If anyone can help, I'd appreciate it!

Btw, my net and email are unlimited for an extra $15 a month. My total bill is around $75. :)

I used to access this site via my old Sony Ericcson P900, it a PDA type thing. I gave up when I got a land line and proper internet. The costs involved with using the PDA were exhorbitant.

I have a Blackberry. I pay about $20/month extra for an unlimited data plan, and hmm, I think $10-20 more for my text messaging plan (it allows for a gazillion a month or something like that). If you're going to use it for online, be sure to get unlimited data to avoid a surprise bill of $1,000 or so - it adds up very quickly.

I'll check on the cookie issue. I can read CChat as a guest user but I can't post, nor can I log into CM's other side. When I had my Treo I logged into the other side and was plopped into someone ELSE'S account.

I love my Blackberry (I believe the Pearl has a condensed keypad and I like my full keypad), but the Motorola Q had a better calendar feature. The Blackberry calendar is a drag.

Enjoy it!

Edited to add: I recommend a good blue tooth earpiece, too. I can hear better through the earpiece (mine is Plantronics) than through the phone itself.

You might be surprised, Mia, at the cost break down.

When I bought my laptop in the early part of this year, I was worried about having to pay seperate charges to be able to log on the web while out of town, but it came with wifi as a standard rather than conventional modem.  When I go out of town, finding a place to sit and log on using the wifi that's out there isn't difficult - IHOP and a lot of other resturants have wifi availabile 24/7 at no cost.  Since ya gotta eat anyway, taking the laptop with, and logging on to do things like check email or the forums costs nothing extra and I do so from my own computer where all my relevant files already are.  If you aren't wanting to go out to eat, specifically, just having a cup of coffee while you do so still gets you alone time, wifi acess, and being able to use your own computer without having to worry that it'll leave behind internet history traces on your relative's comp.  (Which, btw, aren't that difficult to get rid of - just tell it to purge internet history every time you log off.  Shazam - no history for him to notice concerning this site!)

I have a Blackberry as well.  I check my regular email from it some, but honestly don't do much websurfing via my bb.  I've had it since July, and I'm still trying to figure out all the various apps that come Standard with it lol.  I'm not paying "extra" for webservice per se with my blackberry.  BUT.  I am paying twice as much for "blackberry service" as I was for a simple phone plan that included free incoming minutes.  And it wasn't an option to remain with the plan I had but simply upgrade my phone to a blackberry - it was go with a blackberry specific plan, or stay with a regular cell phone.  I actually got the Blackberry as a business tool.  There are handheld units available to read credit cards, transmit the data, and print a reciept - which a blackberry plugs into, and becomes both the modem and processor for the unit.  Since I do a lot of small craft shows and local fairs and such, being able to immediately process credit cards for sales is important to me, and I wanted one of those cc units to facilitate such.

Check the costs first. My kidlet was accessing the paintball forum he lives in online and suddenly my bill went way up. Verizon doesn't count it as text messages, instead they charge $2 per. He's had his phone internet blocked as a result.

I had the internet on my P900 on a pre paid tarriff, a very good way to limit usage.

When I win the lottery (which I rarely play), my second purchase will be either a Blackberry or an I-phone!
