JulieorSarah -> Older Woman and Younger Men (6/10/2008 2:38:04 AM)

This is in response to a thread posted by nycc22m ... younger men and older women ... he posed the question if there were other men like him who were attracted to older women and why.

So ladies, are you attracted to younger men ... not the obvious eye candy reasons ... but for a sustained relationship .. and why?

for me i'm 48, and have always preferred older men, but i'm now discovering that for many males, once they've hit 50 or not much older, they are 'too old for ...' most activities ... those that are in their early 40's still want to live, do stuff, try new things ... am i alone?

Just likes younger men for the eye candy

christine1 -> RE: Older Woman and Younger Men (6/10/2008 5:34:24 AM)

no i'm not attracted to younger men for relationships.  same age and older is fine but if a guy is a lot younger, (as in 8 years or more), i'm just not attracted.  i went out with a younger man once after my divorce and it almost seemed i was babysitting him sometimes.  he was a great guy, but our interests were just too far apart.

your comment about men over 50 being too old for things....maybe you just haven't known enough 50 year olds lol, i've known a few that i had a hard time keeping up with.  my Sir is 20 years older than i am and he's got a zest for life like i've never seen.  we are a wonderful match in so many ways and our goals are the same so it works for us.

i did the younger man dating scene - it didn't work out for me.  he wasn't looking for a long term relationship at the moment ...too busy enjoying his single 20s while i was busy raising my girls. plus the age difference (he was 15yrs my junior) was an issue especially when it came to things i enjoyed doing. i prefer men who are around my age or older but not as my parents or grandparents. i seem to fit better with them.  the guy i'm currently dating now is 3yrs younger which makes it perfect because we're both on the same wavelength in what we're seeking.

BRNaughtyAngel -> RE: Older Woman and Younger Men (6/10/2008 6:15:17 AM)

I posted in the other thread that my Master is 4 years younger than me.  I look much younger than my 45 years, but He didn't even ask how old I was until we had been seeing each other for several months, and I think something I said made Him realize I was older than He thought.  But He doesn't care about our little age difference and likes having His own personal "cougar".

I did have an ongoing sexual relationship with a guy who was 19 years younger than me a couple of years ago.  That was a pretty hot situation!  But an actual relationship wouldn't have worked for a variety of reasons.  He wanted kids, etc....

I really don't look at a persons age so much as the individuals.

Erm...no. It's the sex, silly.

Sheesh!

willowspirit -> RE: Older Woman and Younger Men (6/10/2008 8:21:07 AM)

It's not that I don't like or refuse to meet much younger men, it's more the way they see "older" women. I don't want to be some "throw-away" experience, or to worry about when I'm going to be replaced by some hot little cutie. Maybe it boils down to Trust. Can I trust my heart to a younger man?
(much younger = more than a 7 year age difference)

I think Female Domme + male submissive relationships have a MUCH better chance! It's the younger Male Dominant/ older female submissive relationship I am referring to.

kittinSol -> RE: Older Woman and Younger Men (6/10/2008 8:30:47 AM)

The age of a partner isn't as relevant to me as it was when I was twenty, but my husband's nine months younger than me, so I guess I like younger men [8D] .

i must have lost that age page in the instruction manual, perhaps it fell out with the "not tonight, dear I have a headache" page.

MissMorrigan -> RE: Older Woman and Younger Men (6/10/2008 10:24:34 AM)

I've always been attracted to younger men, I like their zest, vitality, enthusiasm, their eagerness for experience, their firm taut bodies that are unspoilt and toned... Older men are stuck in their ways, they have routine ingrained on their slippers. I had no interest in a live-in situation, I enjoyed my own place, my own space, a toy to amuse myself with and then I met Reality who is 25 to my 44. He's my equal on every level and he has a maturity that's rare in a person; he's level headed, isn't rash to impulsive behaviours, sees only the good in people and I have the utmost respect for him. It's a huge bonus that he looks good between my thighs and keeps me well and truly occupied, but all in the nicest of ways [;)]

Edited to add a little seriousness: Older men are capable of physically achieving all that a younger man can with a good outlook and provided they are physically fit. There has to be a marriage of minds before anything else falls into place.

i've been in a few relationships with younger guys, up to 9 years younger than me, and they were all vanilla.  This was when i was 28 and had just divorced from my husband, of 7 years, who was 14 years older than me.  So, the contrast was wonderfully refreshing and energizing for me and helped boost my self-confidence about being "too old" to date.  This was in the mid '80s.

They were fun and energetic and we had a lot in common, as far as music and outdoors activities, like bicycling and camping and such, goes.  But, for long term relationships, they just didn't do it for me.  They were a little immature for my taste and tended to rely on me to make all the decisions.  There was no way i was going to marry a guy who couldn't make a decision for himself.

i love older men.  i love all the stories they have to tell about their lives.  i love their appreciation for life.  i love that they have learned a thing or two about life and enjoy passing that wisdom on to others.

As long as they are healthy, the ones i have been involved with, even up to their ealy 60's, have all still enjoyed doing a lot of activities with me.

People need to realize, before they reach 50, or even 40, that keeping them self healthy is so important for being able to enjoy the second half of their life.  Being overweight, not staying physically active, smoking, excessive drinking, etc., can bring about health problems that will keep you from being able to do the things you like.  This, of course, goes for women, as well as men.

I like men within 10 years (either way) of my own age. My malesub is 8 years younger than I am. He loves older women and has dated them since his mid twenties and I have dated men younger and older than myself. I look at the individual but I learned a lesson that any more than a 10 year span probably won't work for me.

hizgeorgiapeach -> RE: Older Woman and Younger Men (6/10/2008 12:52:14 PM)

Younger guys are great as temporarily diversions for purely physical gratification. Then again, so are guys my age, or slightly older than myself provided they have enough sex drive (and function) left to keep up with me!

None of 'em... older, my age, younger... are any good for a "relationship" because quite honestly I don't Want a "relationship."  Been there, done that, got my fingers burned often enough sticking them in that particular fire to learn my lesson.  The younger ones want children - something that makes me turn green and get sick to my stomach even contemplating.  The ones my age all have bitter baggage from prior wives or girlfriends - or they're simply so caught up in the idea of who is running the show, in either direction, that they lack sufficient balance for my peace of mind.  The ones that are to much older than me don't have enough of a sense of adventure left, because they've already been there done that on the things that I still want to do.

Vendaval -> RE: Older Woman and Younger Men (6/10/2008 1:15:59 PM)

One of my subs is older than me by a few years and one is several years younger.  The older one is set in his ways and not as willing to try new things.  The younger one still likes to try new experiences and has a sense of adventure.  Attitude is more important to me than the actual chronological age, as some people are a young 50 or 60 and some 20 somethings are wise beyond their years.

SteelofUtah -> RE: Older Woman and Younger Men (6/10/2008 1:33:31 PM)

I always perfered older women.

In Fact

Andi is the first woman who was more than a Year younger than me than I ever dated and I only dated 2 women who were a year younger than me.

I was only with 2 or 3 women who were the same age as me.

The Majority of all the women I have been with either sexually or in a commited relationship with were ALL Nearly a Decade older than me.

Why you may ask?

Because I didn't meet any women my own age who had the same interests as me.

Andi is just the best thing I ever found age had nothing to do with it however as we grow together there are things I notice that I never had to deal with when I dated older women.

I just like women in thier mid to late 30's up to thier late late 40's.

Preference is like that there isn't always rhyme or reason for it I just find a woman in her 40's Very Sexy. Something that has made it hard for finding realistic Poly situations because finding a girl like andi twice is prooving to be dificult and andi is concerned about the age difference of the girls that I am interested in something that we are making some headway with.

Younger men seem to be attracted to me, not the other way around.
I used to think it was because I looked so much younger than my age, BUT then I realized that older men are SUPPOSED to be into younger women.
I guess they just aren't that into blondes with big boobs and nice bodies.

LadyRainfire -> RE: Older Woman and Younger Men (6/10/2008 2:52:48 PM)

I never planned on getting involved with a man younger than me, it just happened. However, Lumus is incredibly mature and we have so much in common that age has never been an issue. I forget that he's 7 years younger than me. I've had casual relationships with a couple of men younger than me and while it was nice for activities, it wouldn't have worked long term, not with them anyway. I think age only becomes an issue when it's made an issue, though it doesn't have to be. [:)]

windchymes -> RE: Older Woman and Younger Men (6/10/2008 3:50:52 PM)

I'm much more attracted to and compatible with guys 5 to 10 years younger than I am.  I'd consider someone older if he looked and acted 5 to 10 years younger than I am. [8|]

A lot of younger men, meaning those in their 20's and 30's have told me that they like "older" women because "they know what they want".  And also, they think we're sexually experienced and can teach them wonderful new things.  [&:]
