ORIGINAL: WinsomeDefiance I like the term conservative and non-conservative. The term traditional, however has a different connotation in my mind! Coming from a Southern Baptist upbringing, where women were expected to submit themeselves to their husbands, unto the lord - well to me, Traditional translates to D/s! Well, i'm a conservative and i'm kinky and i'm in a M/s relationship. i was also raised a Southern Baptist but, as an adult, i converted to Methodist. And, like i said, "Of course, those terms probably aren't totally accurate, either..." i believe every relationship has one partner who is more Dominant than the other, even if they're 'vanilla'. Sometimes, it's the wife who 'wears the pants' in the family. Marriages that are based on a "traditional male head of household" structure have a D/s character but, without the BD/SM. Christian Domestic Discipline relationships are based on those biblical "traditions" of the husband being Dominant over the wife. These are just general terms, any way, since there are really no absolute lines between "vanilla" and "non-vanilla". It's rarely, if ever, all either/or. There is a whole lot of crossover. BD/SM couples are "vanilla", in many ways and, "vanilla" couples partake in, at least mild, forms of BS/SM, in their sex life. quote:
10 years ago, I would have said that anything that was kinky was the opposite of Vanilla. Now, I tend to think of Vanilla the way I do about words like sane and normal. Vanilla (Sane/Normal) is what a person is until you REALLY get to know them. Absolutely!! The kink is in there, somewhere. It's just a matter of exposing it....... joy Owned servant of Master David
