Aylee -> RE: The Holly and Potty Show (4/14/2011 5:11:00 PM)

I am thinking about a rant. A rant about the fact that there is NO substitute for practice. Really, there is no magic anything. You just have to do it. Repeatedly.

ShaharThorne -> RE: The Holly and Potty Show (4/14/2011 5:27:37 PM)

I am ranting because Dish network is fading in and out on the local channels.  Tonight is the kick off part.  It even screwed up Jeopardy.

Hell..I guess I can go shave my legs *got a neat carpi to show off*

True enough.  Lots of agony in the meantime, sometimes!

Too bad I can't say I've slept any......got off work last night, missed my 20 minute window of opportunity to fall asleep, and am now doing the spring cleaning thing.  May as well get something done!

Just about anything...oil changes, fornication, math, cooking, music.  Of course, cooking and music can cause agony to the folks who are eating/listening. [:D]

I have planted! WOOT!

Now we shall have to wait and see if anything comes of it.

ShaharThorne -> RE: The Holly and Potty Show (4/18/2011 10:55:23 AM)

Damn it..I thought a semi was a tornado and got up to run to the bedroom.

These semis do sound like  tornado coming though.

If there is a money tree coming out of it, I will be more than happy to take some seeds [:)]

Phoenix, I do not think that my green thumb is quite that good yet.

Tonight I can hear the whooping and hollering from the post office. It will continue until midnight.

Aylee, are you past your last frost date yet? We've got another month around here till it's safe to plant tender things.

Pretty much. There is a chance for another light frost, but it is kind of unlikely.

On the other hand, it would not be the first time I have killed plants.

It hit 90 today, and if we get another frost, I would have to guess that hell has frozen over as well.

soul2share -> RE: The Holly and Potty Show (4/19/2011 11:24:21 PM)

Well, I've done my good deed for the week....was coming home from work, and almost ran over this kid who was in the middle of the street.  I stopped, since it looked like he was trying to get help, and turns out, he'd been at the strip club at the corner, and left his keys on the bar, and someone took his keys, then his car.  He said it was a girl, all he knows is her name is jessica.  Anyway, who ever took it totaled it against a tree about 1/2 mile from the bar.  He was walking home and found it.  It WAS a Geo Metro......now it's a pile of scrap metal.  Whoever was driving hit the windshield and left blood on the airbag.....I don't know how they walked away.......but they'll be showing up at the hospital pretty soon.  The poor kid, he was drunk himself, so he was pretty emotional,  I let him call his dad, and then all he could say was his dad's going to beat his ass.  I did talk to dad to tell him we weren't where his son told him we'd be, I took him to the car.  While I was talking to his dad, the cops showed up.  A passerby called it in.

I hope his dad isn't to hard on him, the poor kid's all busted up about his car.  I'm sure the officer will be mentionng the whole drunk driving thing.  I do know he wasn't the one who wrecked it because of  the extent of damage to the car, and the fact he's unhurt.  Could've been worse...the car stopped w/the front end hanging over a drop of about 10 feet......it would have flipped upside down, and there's no telling how worse the injuries would be.  I didn't see any skid marks, so they hit pretty good.  I could still hear liquids leaking, so it hadn't been out there very long.

I just didn't want to see the poor kid out there by himself trying to figure out what to do next.  I'd like to think that someone would stop to help my son...he said that about 6 people passed him by before I stopped.  Even the first cop that stopped said I was brave.....I told him that A) the window wasn't completely down until I knew what was up, and B), the car was still in drive, and all the doors were locked.

What a shame...[:o] But I hope they work out fine for what they are aimed to grow [:)]

Wow, respect...hope as well that they figure out who it was and that his dad isn't too harsh on him [:o]

Cops response reminds me about a situation where I was standing on a traffic light some years ago and suddenly a woman tried to open the side door to get in...thank goodness I had it on lock and the light was turning green in that situation [>:] In that case it was in the middle of the day and quite frankly there are many sources where you can go to if you need help at bright daylight, it does not have to be me when I don't know what that person is up to [>:]

On another occasion it happened in the evening at darkness...but there it was my brother, so I somewhat had to let him in, I suppose [8|] Coincidentially he had stood behind me with a friends car on a traffic light...

Anyhow, I hope that this story goes well for that boy and that the person who ruined that car hasn't too horrendous injuries, considering sometimes fatalities happen when people believe they are ok when actually they arent.

Good for you S2S!

DesFIP -> RE: The Holly and Potty Show (4/22/2011 5:07:45 PM)

I want someone to pamper me. Took the teen and his gf down to the city to have lunch with my dad. The teen eats like no tomorrow and the gf is the world's pickiest eater. Trains back and forth, trying to have conversation with someone who forgets what you said five minutes ago and asks the same questions over and over. I want to crawl into bed and have someone bring me tea and eggs and toast. And maybe a stiff drink!

soul2share -> RE: The Holly and Potty Show (4/22/2011 7:34:26 PM)

awwwww, Celeste.....here ya go....

I'm sending a (mental) massage in your direction.  And here's some chamomile tea, candles and soft music too.....

(Damn...now I'm getting hot!)
