Howdy all!

So. . . I went to the grocery store to pick up a few things.

I realize that there is some sort of sports thingy going on later today, but for the love of ALL things beautiful, just how MANY snacks do people need while this is going on?

I like snacks too. But there comes a point where I would prefer to just make a meal. [8|]

I have five teens here for the game. I didn't realize you could spend this much on junk food. How many types of salsa does a kid need?

What really annoys me is first I got to spend 3 hours chipping ice, then while all the males rest from ice removal I get to spend the rest of the day cooking for them. Brownies in now, then wings, then pizza.

See, I would have just set up the crock pots and left plastic ware and disposable dishes out. Along with veggie trays and other easy to do nibblements.

I really was not even supposed to be home today, but some work stuff got pushed back a day because of the blizzard. So tomorrow I head for Iowa. And then Ohio. And then New York. Should be a barrel of fun.

I hope that all of your cooking goes well!

Des, you have 5 teenage boys at your house for this. There is NO way that all of those people at the store had a slew of teenagers over. None of it was for homemade anything. It was all heat and eat stuff.

I kind of wanted to ask, "So are you going to watch the game, or just eat?"

They've eaten their way through it. And The Man has had more than his fair share of food. I made two trays of chicken wings, one third barbecue and two thirds buffalo. And two trays of brownies. And three frozen pepperoni pizzas. They've eaten two bags of chips and two plates of veggies with three kinds of dips. Three 2 liter sodas and two half gallon pitchers of iced tea. And if they also kill off the ice cream, I will cry.

Oh yeah and one homemade bread. I had a roast beef sandwich myself, since there wasn't a wing left.

If I do this again next year, remind me to make all the wings earlier in the day so I can make more. Or maybe cook them on foil pans on the grill.

Actually I have always thought it was rather wonderful that your house is open to all of these teenagers. Even if they do eat all the food.

But yes, next year go with some bbq beef in a crock-pot, one of those large briskets in the cryovac packs (yes you CAN cook those in the oven!), veggie trays, cheese and crackers, and so forth.

I wanted to do a "Souper Bowl" party this year, but I was scheduled to be out of town. I wanted to have several kinds of soup and bread bowls with a day of board gaming. Perhaps next year. [:)]

Actually, Celeste, I believe the creature you're looking for is locusts!!!!!  They swoop in, eat everything that won't eat them back, and fly off foraging for more food...sounds like every group of teenagers I've ever met!!!!

TAKE THE DAMN DAY OFF IF YOU WANT TO WATCH THE DAMN THING.  3 TIMES....3 FRICKIN' TIMES I ASKED THE STOOPID BIOTCH TO TURN DOWN THE TV OR USE HER DAMN EARPHONES......INSTEAD, IN ORDER TO HEAR MY MUSIC, I AM FORCED TO TURN THE DAMN SHIT UP TIL I GAVE UP AND JUST QUIT TRYING TO LISTEN TO IT!!!!!!  I COULD HEAR THEM ALL OVER MEATLOAF!!!!!

Still watching "destroyed in Seconds".  The setting is a straight track with race cars doing wheel stands....ok, cool......the host says to get a good car for this, you get a vehicle and put the largest engine you can into it....and some other mechanical stuff I didn't get.

They pan to some driver who has a Chevette,  with like a 650 hp engine in it......am I the only one that saw what would happen next????  Apparently so....said driver set it up, tried to take off and yep, flipped it over like a turtle on it's top.  A Chevette....c'mon....they flip over in a high wind!  Yet another D'OH moment!

Shoulda waited for the end.....trashed his car pretty good.  He was lucky.....not too smart, but ok......
