The last 2 nights I did night shifts and at day time a small day shift...to have some rest as well...in between before I get back to nightshift again...now...today I did a 3pm until late shift and was meant to leave at 9.45pm ... was looking forward to get home...spending me-time in my bed with merlin and urmel...only to figure out that the nightstaff here doesn't bother to turn up

When I called her to inform her she got snappy at me, where I told her that I don't put up with arguing and hanged up...she already had that attitude at me last week, where she came in despite that she had annual leave..and got pissy at me claiming she would be on...just to back off once she saw the rota...so I made sure I am not having any of it when all I am doing is to inform her...

So as that fucktwat doesn't bother to come in it means I work from 3pm today until 7.15am tomorrow...and then still have to do my 8am to 4.30pm shift tomorrow right afterwards...so once I get home I am unlikely to get anything done because I will feel dead

I am furious big time and pissed off to have to work with such crap staff over here....seriously, how regular people here are late (or like now don't come in at all) that's not something we put up with back home...gosh I soooooooooooo can't wait to leave that Isle for good

Now I work 55.75 hours here binnen the last 77.25 hours....joy...

Hope everyone's day goes better than Phoenix's night.....man, that sux!!!!  Isn't there a supervisor or something that you can take your issues to, Phoenix?  Surely, if the scheduled folks don't want to come to work, then there are plenty of unemployed people that are trained to do the job that would!  Not showing up for work is grounds for instant dismissal here in the states.....is it not there?  

I hope you get some sleep.....

he probably rammed his Tonka truck into the base of the tree that fell over and KO'd the whole area.

thanks...reg. complaint the problem is that I don't know for sure who screwed it up now, was it her or her manager. The way how I see her holiday request in the request book it looks to me that she screwed it up and that I was right that she was meant to come in, however a colleague from her said that the manager said something that they both would be off that week....which then would be an error in the rota from his side...therefore....her managers will have to check that.

And whilst I didn't complaint officially about her attitude I did make the deputy aware about it (also aware about it that at the shift before she came in despite not being on, because if she was now wrong again, then it shows that she somehow keeps muddling up her shifts a lot at present). So if she continues with her attitude then it can happen that at some point I will complain, but in general I prefer not to have any hassle with such stuff, if it is avoidable...though I did complain 2 years ago about a colleague and she got sacked last year...so if someone takes the piss then I will do that route...but for now....I live and let her live...

However I am at home now....at last...enjoying my new laptop (I think it is the same one then the one who drank my chocolate milk...)

A laptop without wires for internet...life is good

Thanks s2s, as mentioned to Holly's reply I don't know for sure yet that she was meant to come in, it also can be that she was on annual leave and that the manager wrote it wrong in the rota (though, I doubt). So if she screwed it up then it will be topic for supervision, I suppose and will be one mark on her file...regarding dismissal, over here people get away with a lot before they get dismissed....unfortunately. Certain folks come late to work on a regular basis, which is not someting with which they would survive their probation period in Germany.

Recently a bloke came 5 minutes late (and did it again 1-2 weeks later in my next shift)...whilst 5 minutes isn't much for many people and I got used to it by now that many of my colleagues are like that and get away with it over here. So often I used to live with that habbit, however on the first occassion it did piss me off a lot, as those 5 minutes make the difference between getting the bus home and just missing it...and as sundays the service is limited I wasted my time sitting 20 minutes on the bus stop until the next one came...

And regarding my comment that many come here late on a regular basis, most of the time its 15-60 minutes late...not just 5...

And reg. supervisor or so, I left a note about it to the deputy and left a message on the phone to the manager (what a surprise, last night I wasn't able to leave a message on her phone, now at daytime I could....what a "coincidence" *snort*). The problem is just that at 10pm there is nothing you can do. You can't just leave as then you are in trouble yourself for leaving them alone and at that time you are unlikely to find cover to jump in. So you just have to get on with it once you calmed down about it....

However, i am at home now.

I will tidy up now a fair bit and do some paper work which needs to get done and in the next days I will put pics from summer, merlin and urmel on flickr page...that way its easier to show their picks
