Hello Lady Pact, I want to echo what Lady Albatross said. I find that when I try to make something happen, I miss what did happen. Please cherish the time you have left no matter how pedestrian the moments might seem. Respectfully, Mike

Some wonderful thoughts and suggestions here. I really feel for You LadyPact ... to be separated from BOTH Your men so quickly ... that's more than tough. I have one other idea to add ... write him a letter. Express how very much You have appreciated his service and just what the time spent together has meant to You. Give it to him to fold into his most personal possessions and take with him to read and reread and read again. Perhaps he could do likewise for You. These "warm fuzzies" have immense power. And another lovely little memento ... go through a pack of cards together and each pick out the card that represents the other. For example ... he might pick out the Queen of Hearts for You ... or Diamonds ... whatever works for him. You might pick out a Jack for the prince he has been for You. Paste a favourite photo of the person on the back of the cards and each carry them. They fit quite well in a wallet or a purse. So he gets to carry his Queen with him and You get to carry Your prince ... a very simple little memento that can call to mind so much at one glance. I echo those who suggest not getting so carried away that it becomes a burden or a whirlwind ... just enjoy each other. Dwell on the positives. Oh ... is there the thought that You and his wife will have ongoing contact while he is deployed? If not ... perhaps a letter to her would be a generous gesture too ... for she will doubtless be dreading this time also. The military is nowhere near as kind and responsible an Owner as You. A note of support might be just what she needs, but obviously, only You can be the judge of that for Your situation. You will be in My thoughts ... it's a situation I can't comprehend dealing with as I have had minimal involvement with military folk. But if You need to vent anytime ... Actually, Ma'am Jay, I've thought about that quite a bit. The letter hasn't been composed yet, but writing the words has definitely been going through My head. Thank you for your kind offer of support.
