LOS ANGELES - Harvey Korman, the tall, versatile comedian who won four Emmys for his outrageously funny contributions to “The Carol Burnett Show” and played a conniving politician to hilarious effect in “Blazing Saddles,” died Thursday. He was 81.

Korman died at UCLA Medical Center after suffering complications from the rupture of an abdominal aortic aneurysm four months ago, his family said. He had undergone several major operations.

“He was a brilliant comedian and a brilliant father,” daughter Kate Korman said in a telephone interview with The Associated Press. “He had a very good sense of humor in real life.

What a wonderful comedian, and seemed like a terrific man.

What a funny man.  I've had people in my family die from AAA and it's not a pleasant way to go.  I'm gonna have to go watch some of his movies now.

He never failed to make us smile...especially when Tim Conway was his sidekick.

I remember watching him and the crew on the Carol Burnett show....OMG!!!  It was funnier than the skits when he'd try to get everyone to crack up while doing their parts.  Add Tim Conway into the mix, and no one stood a chance of keeping a straight face!  He always struck me as a gentleman in a time when most weren't.

Where ever the Supreme being is, his life just got a lot brighter......you can bet that Harvey already has him in stitches!

What a loss.  We're losing some great people this year.

He couldn't play with the other elephants. He'd go kerflunke! That was Tim's line. Everybody would laugh especially Harvey. I don't know if i have the line right but seeing it and their reactions in my mind. They always made me smile. What a team of delightful comedy, drama, and high jinxs. It was a joy watching them together and were so good at what they do/did. I miss that show. It was one show i truly loved.
Harvey dressed up as a woman. That was always so funny! Rhett Butler to Carol's Scarlett..smiles and laughs..

Thanks for the wonderful years of laughter, fun, gaiety and absolute charm!!!

Rest in peace..

"I'm so glad we had this time together.
Just to have a laugh or sing a song.
Seems we just get started, and before you know it...
Comes the time we have to say...so long."

Thank you for the many, many laughs Harvey.
Rest in peace. You will be missed.

this thread made me chuckle at the memories.  too bad they'e tainted with tears for the loss.  i heard carol was devastated, poor tim has to be too, you can't share chemistry like that with someone and not be very close.  they made a great team!  we always watched the shows and specials when i was a kid.
