George Bush Authorized the Leak of Valerie Wilson’s Identity
http://emptywheel.firedoglake.com/2008/05/29/george-bush-authorized-the-leak-of-valerie-wilsons-identity/

Thus far, though, we only had Dick Cheney's word that he had actually asked Bush to declassify this information. We didn't have Bush's confirmation that he had actually declassified the information. In fact, we've had Dick Cheney's claims that he--Dick--had insta-declassified via his super secret pixie dust declassification powers.

But now we've got George Bush, confirming that he, the President of the United States, authorized the leaks of "this information."

Yeah, I know - he's not a "real" Republican.

Good luck with that empty rhetoric...!

A little late for this news anyway....aint it? He's out in 6 months.

Blame the Dems in the House. Nancy Pelosi refused to allow any investigation into the Bush administration.

I think the problem is that you've got a "Yale graduate" with maybe an i.q. of 95.

So he can always plead diminished capacity, and his critics are going to have to backpedal on their own words, or admit that he can never be convicted of anything...

Not precisely treason but McClellan did claim that Bush admitted to felony violation of both the National Security Act and various laws protecting the identities of covert agents. If convicted GWB would be facing life without parole and based on how you interpret which covert identity law he broke maybe the death penalty. Want to bet GWB pardons himself and the chief players in his gang on xmas eve?

Only if someone comes along with a time machine and actually makes Valerie Plame a covert agent instead of a 'covered employee' within the 5 year statutory requirement... at which point her husband should go to jail first.

It must be summer, the trolling is all re-runs.

What's next, the 'massacre' at Jenin, or 'Loose Change'

The CIA considered her a covert agent. The CIA went to a lot of trouble to provide her a cover job.

Some things to keep in mind, Plame was not the only covert agent with Brewster Jennings & Associates on their resume, how many the CIA won't say, and they're all compromised as well.

Also as to your claim that Wilson outed her, citation please.

Provide a cover for her and the several hundred people who had regular dealings with her... all comprimised.

So, this Bush guy is a bad apple, eh? Gosh, who wouldda thunk it?
