I am thinking of attending my first fetish event - what would be appropriate apparel? I was thinking of a corset with a long black skirt and boots.

Unless it is spelled out as 'PVC Night', or some other specific dress code, I can't imagine why that wouldn't be just fine.

I have worn corsets or PVC, I have worns Jeans and Vest top.  Some places won't allow denim at all.  Some are totally casual.
Find out what the event preferes - there is almost always a dress code of some sort and work with that and don't rely on what others post here.

Dress in a way to represent yourself : )

If there aren't specific guidelines for the place (which you should be able to find out on their website or by calling) then wear something that makes you feel sexy.  For as shy as I am in normal life I am a bit of an exhibitionist in the scene and I like to wear something that stands out.  If everyone is wearing black I want to wear red.  If everyone is wearing fishnets I want to come in a white corset and diamonds.  These are the things that make me feel sexy.  Don't worry about fitting in, worry about looking your best!

Good luck,

charlotte

Like the others have said, that sounds good unless there's a specific dress code.

But might I suggest a standby of a schoolgirl outfit with handcuffs and legirons?  [:D]

SinLee -> RE: Fetish Night Apparel (5/29/2008 1:52:52 PM)

that'd work at either the events i go to or the bar i go to, i say it's a pretty safe bet, but definately look for clothing restrictions... i know our invitations go out with street clothes are NOT allowed (then again corsets aren't really street clothes, unless you're someone like me and don't care who looks at you funny)

CruelDesires -> RE: Fetish Night Apparel (5/29/2008 2:04:24 PM)

Our local fetish nights used to be a more laid back and "wear what you want" sort of event. Ive seen everything from street clothes to High fetish wear at those events. Normal street clothes from the curious and newcomers... to the High Fetish which included all rubber and or pvc to all latex and all leather. Mix and or matched. Usually the no "blue" jeans restriction can be gotten around by just buying some black RIT clothing dye and dying them black. :)

Fetish Balls on the other hand were much more restricted as to what was allowed or deemed appropriate. Those events are much more formal and usually the newcomers and or curious are not even invited.

diapers and fluffy bunny slippers?

OO8OO88O8 -> RE: Fetish Night Apparel (5/29/2008 2:26:27 PM)

To re-iterate before, just wear what you feel best represents yourself. I would add that a corset may not always be the best idea if you are wearing it the whole day including meals and such. So wear something you will be comfortable in for whatever duration of the event. If it's a club like event, then a corset will be great. If it's an event with classes and is an all-day event, then something a little more comfortable might be a better idea.

Lynnxz -> RE: Fetish Night Apparel (5/29/2008 2:29:30 PM)

I *Never* know what to wear for fetish events. If it's casual, I show up in pvc, if its kinky, I show up in ripped jeans. Luckily, they have lockers, and I've taken to bringing along a second set of clothes.

Reposted:

My particular preferences are on the glamorous end- ball gowns, tulle skirts, many colors and metallics.  I like velvet and satin, but not much silk.  You are much more likely to see me in a mint or pink color than black.  You won't see me in leather usually unless it's a specific leather event.  I also enjoy wearing native clothing from other places because it looks exotic here.  Camo, chain mail, pvc, corsets, stoles, hats, scarves are all in my wardrobe as well.

And I've worn blatantly kinky clothes to vanilla places and vanilla clothes to kinky places.  It's much more important to me that it look clean, neat, and work for the body (and be fairly in style) rather than it looking "kinky"

Might I suggest something in a couture rectum rounder?  Say something silver with diamonds with a matching oral plug?

All kidding aside, you see such a variance that you are unlikely to be the best or the worst dressed.

LuckyAlbatross -> RE: Fetish Night Apparel (5/29/2008 7:01:49 PM)

blowfish has a few nice ones :)

Ozzfan1317 -> RE: Fetish Night Apparel (5/29/2008 10:36:36 PM)

Personally that sounds like an awesome decision I love Corsets myself and if that is what makes you fell sexy and comfortable then that is what you should wear..:)

MistressK1964 -> RE: Fetish Night Apparel (5/29/2008 10:48:13 PM)

Depends on My mood. I can go from mild to wild at anytime. Then again, I could e just as comfortable in sweats and a mens  muscle tank top.

MaamJay -> RE: Fetish Night Apparel (5/30/2008 2:17:01 AM)

Some events do stipulate arriving in street clothes and changing into fetish wear there for the sake of their neighbours so do ask. Otherwise the OPs outfit sounds like a good choice. Have fun!

Cloth or disposables?   And don't forget the pacifier!   [:)]

daiseytheone -> RE: Fetish Night Apparel (5/30/2008 12:17:07 PM)

I personally do not like VICTORIA'S SECRET for fetish wear, their corsets appear too vanilla (my mistake when first shopping and in the scene).

Also, no rinestone anything, unless it's high quality crystal or diamond, studs only in silver, lots of silver. Anything leather, pvc, rubber...
