I don't think I have seen a Sharon Stone movie since 'Casino'.  I wish the Chinese would understand that the only thing she is known for here is a beaver shot in a movie 18 years ago.  When I heard they announced the release of 'Basic Instinct 2' my only thought was, "God please tell me that old lady keeps her legs crossed in this one."

There is a video in the link, I've not watched it myself but apparently she did. I'm kind of wondering what she thinks all those children that died had to do with the oppression of Tibet.

Well, for a Buddhist the idea of karma is very real - and there's very little that is astonishing or shocking about a statement like that for anyone who's incorporated that way of thinking - which applies to most of the Eastern world and a lot of Westerners as well. - I can understand that the Chinese react to it though, and also since they've tried to 'hijack' Tibetan Buddhism for quite a while now....

I'm no expert but to me it displays a pretty faulty grasp of the notion of karma. 

I thought Sharon Stone had a great cameo in Broken Flowers, she was one of the best things in it.

It was a shitty thing to say.

Sorry, but that ranks right up there with McCain's ex-pastor spewing forth bile about how New Orleans was the target for God's wrath because they were planning a Gay Pride parade.

Both statements are really, really fucked up, and offend my sense of who and what God is.

Yeah, I was thinking the same thing; makes her sound like a bimbo... Well, she's an actress, maybe it was intentional - to make it sound more 'innocent', who knows - she's really too old to take on the bimbo role though, but, hey, some people never grow up and get away with it too... [:D]

I'm actually pretty stunned that Sharon Stone (generally a fairly intelligent person, from what I've seen over the years) would say something this stupid.

Ewww, really?  She has not aged well as far as I can see.  I never saw her as intelligent at all.  She was in a Police Academy movie for fuck's sake.
