Status: offline 		If you freeze  a fresh ginger plug... will it still have all the properties of Fresh Ginger when it thaws out?  In other words- could you make a fresh ginger plug, freeze it, insert it, and watch the person go from dealing with the cold to dealing with the heat?

Has anyone tried this?

Status: offline 		You have to move quickly as it is water based and can get "oopy" and lose its "hardness".

Yeah, I had this idea as well but it's probably not going to work any better for you than it did for me. Ginger actually freezes very well because of the high moisture content, but, you need to freeze it unpeeled which rather defeats the purpose of being able to take it from freezer to anus since it will have to be peeled before use. Frozen ginger is much harder to peel than unfrozen ginger. Regular thawed ginger isn't all that easy to peel to begin with and frozen, it tends to break out in chunks and I am speaking from personal experience on this one. On the flip side, if you peel it before you freeze it, it will lose it potency by the time it gets to freeze stage. If you have access to some quick freeze method (I don't!) then I'd suggest giving it a try, then come back and tell us about it. I, for one, would love to hear how well it works.

Hmmm I have tried regular figging many times though I have not tried the frozen way before, though it now features quite high up on my things to do list! Having said that I think it would be quite hard to insert the frozen ginger straight from the freezer because it will not be as wet and bendy as the none frozen stuff. Perhaps a better idea than freezing it would be to just put it in very icy water to make it very cold. It will not be frozen though it will still have most of its potency and it would also still be cold enough to get an interesting effect.

just trying to get a way to make it work, why does it lose its potency? do the oils seep out as it freezes, or is it a chemical reaction?

I am thinking can you peel and shape it then wrap it in seran wrap (tightly) before throwing it in the bottom (warm air rises) of the freezer on a wire rack where the air can really get to it.

Status: offline 		Hmm ... wrapping it might work, maybe using one of those vacuum sucker things to get all the air out. As soon as the ginger is peeled it starts to lose potency because it starts to loose moisture, but you may be able to retain enough oomph to make it worth while especially if you start off with some turbo charged ginger. It would be interesting to experiment. In theory, my inclination is to say that the freezing then insertion might get the anus too cold (as in numbed) to feel the effects before they dissipate since ginger only lasts so long anyway, but, it's good for an experiment for sure! I'd be willing to make the supreme sacrifice and test it all out, cuz, I'm like all philanthropic and stuff.



I'll ask Himself about it. We actually have ginger in the house right now because, um, I like to cook. Yeah. That sounds good.

Well, a plastic baggie (with the air squeezed out) should be more air-tight than plastic wrap... Once wrapped, i'd stick it in a bowl full of ice water to drop the temperature quickly (water has better thermal transfer than air, salt water is better still), and once it gets down into the 30's you can either stick it in the freezer to finish the job, or use it as-is.... Just throw a l'il science at that sucker

Status: offline 		hmm frozen anything in the anus is a bad idea. Hasn't anyone heard of ice burns? Thats why we have to wrap ice packs before putting them on injurys.

Status: offline 		actually you can take a finger of peeled ginger that has lost its potency, put it in a baggie and put in the crisper drawer of the fridge. Forget about it a few days until moisture has condensed on the baggie and a slight bit of mold appears on the ginger.  This mold is benign and not harmful in any way.  When you see these conditions, the ginger may be re-used. Rinse in cold water and insert and it will be even stronger than it was originally.  This really works.

i was party to a conversation similar to this at a club on Saturday night.. The only difference was in the exact idea.. We thought it would be more interesting to freeze up some ice cubes.. Let them half melt.. Cover them in lashings of powdered ginger.. Put them back in the ice cube trays, refill with water and re-freeze.. Not entirely sure if it would work but it definately sounds like an interesting combination... *shudders*

I wonder if essence of ginger can be mixed with water and frozen into different shapes.

I have taken an ice dildo (water and condom) and rubbed grated ginger all over it before using it. Just have to really finely grate the ginger and mix with a little lube.

I looked for "oopy" in 3 different dictionaries and couldn't find it in any of them. Prey, tell, what does it mean?

Status: offline 		Freshly grated and squeezed ginger juice would freeze better, and could be use as an additive to a lube, or painted neat on the pink bits of the recipient and would still be effectively warming. Just stir the liquid a few times while it freezes to stop large crystals forming and then leave it until you need to use it. and of course, you could use it in the form of ice cubes too, if you have a mind to!

Freezing whole shaped ginger pieces would work to a certain extent, but the tissues would begin to break down quickly, as when frozen the water content within the ginger would have expanded and compromised the fibres of the plant.

What you can do with whole ginger is age it. Put large pieces of ginger root into a clean plastic bag and forget about it at the back of the fridge for a good few weeks. It should, by then, have turned into something not very pretty at all, might even need a shave, but trust me, washed under running water, dabbed dry on kitchen towel and then shaped for use it can take on some rather evil powers!
