I want to send out my thoughts to the men and women who`ve given their lives, in service of our country.

This of course, includes the 4000 plus most recent casualties from Iraq and over 500 casualties from Afghanistan.

I also wish their families the best and thank them for their sacrifices.

Over this memorial weekend, thank a veteran too, if you know any.

Owner, agreed.
I lost a cousin in Vietnam. He was there for three weeks.

as one who served during times of peace, i dont even feel like a veteran most days.  thanks to all who served during times of war and unrest.

I'll be spending Memorial Day with my dad and the rest of my family.  He did 3 tours in Vietnam as an infantry officer with the 1st Calvary Division, 5th of the 7th.  I always bring his favorite beer.

Did you sign up only on the condition that there would be no war?  I doubt it.  You placed yourself in the line of fire in case the shit hit the fan.  The fact that it didn't makes your service no less worthy of the title vet.  Thank you for your service.

Very well said. I always think of my Dad on Memorial day... and of course all my buddies over in the middle east now.

I want all of our service men and women to come home safely to thier loved ones and family.

I have not seen my Blonde haired goddess in far too long. They need to send her home dang it.

If i could...Memorial Day is reserved for our fallen heros (my late husband is one) but there are those who stood behind the veterans...the widows and the sons and daughters. They are the unsung heros who also gave a great sacrifice, and the scars will never heal. Ever.
Lets remember them too.
