I recently received a message from CM that there have been complaints re: my profile therefore I"m blocked for 24 hours.... as far as I know I haven't offended anyone and I know there isn't anything offensive in my profile or journals.... so why am I blocked, is there any way to find out what I did wrong?

This problem is mafia related; they want to log your IP thingy, see when you are logged on and then steal your car.

I think this occurs as part of an automated system when people report your profile as offensive.

so anybody can just claim a profile as offensive and you get automatically blocked?  I wonder who i ticked off to want to do that.... LOL

it's actually kinda funny in the end... my profile looks vanilla compared to some i've read...

oh well 4 more hours and i am freed... i just wonder what needs to be changed in order for it to not happen again...

Yes that automated system has occurred to me as flawed for the same reason unless it has some kind of safeguard in relation to logging the IP address of the people reporting the profile. i.e. to stop vindictive type attacks which are all too common in the nethood in which we live side by side as neighbours.

IP address logging doesn't do mirracles. (they are easy to change)
I think they just block it... inspect it with in 24 hours and then message you.

Can't view your profile presently, obviously, I guess, so I can't look and see and suggest something. But as a standard rule when any sexual activities involving actual minors (rather than like age play or something) are mentioned, I tend to report THOSE profiles. I think its extremely inappropriate. Other than THAT, if I don't like someone's profile I just "hide" it so I don't have to look at it again. I have no idea if this is standard practice and others do similarly.

It does suck to have someone report it and be banned for 24 hours. I can't even see exactly what that will solve on its own? Are you going to have to redo your profile then? Did they tell you what portion was reported? If not, it seems silly and useless, to me.

apparently they don't delete my profile which is good, I put alot of thought into my profile informaton.... i know i've blocked a few people in the past but have never had to report anyone....

if there is no monitoring as to why someone has complained then this is just an avenue for some to act vindictively (sp?), I'm actually kinda hurt, cuz I don't know what I have done or said to have anyone want to log a complaint about me... :(

might as well consider it one more form of harassment someone who wants to get to you is allowed to use with impunity.  i've had stalkers here and there and they get away with all kinds of bs.  not much one can do.
