do any of them have the option to work like a web cam.  cause im sick and tired of a blurry shit colored web cam.  while i see other's who have nice clear pictures.

so they cant be using web cams.  i have had the chance to try many many web cams...its all the same crap blurryness and discolored video.  logitech was especially the worst.  but they're also one of the cheapest.

so if digicams have this option....im assuming they do..but it doesnt specify in the info when i look at products.  which make/models have this option?

you can get a nice 8 megapixel digicam for $150 or less.  i just saw a 12 mp for $229.  12!!! damn.

and no its not my computer..im using 2.4 ghz dual core with 2gb 800 mhz ram and bfg 8600gts 256 mb vid.

I use a Microsoft LifeCam and it has a crystal clear picture. Best of all it was only $20.

i read the reviews on that and the reviews dont sound that good at all.

http://www.futureshop.ca/catalog/proddetail.asp?sku_id=0665000FS10075365&catid=10498&logon=&langid=EN

and its definately not $20.

vx-1000 on sale $29 from $44.  the other vx-3000 is $59 and the one above vx-6000 on sale $59.

I can't tell what model number mine is, but it looks like that. It was 20 from a store called MicroCenter. So far there has been no problems and I've had it at least a full year. It is clear as a bell for me.

EEP!!

What I find very annoying is the advertisements that started popping up after installing the webcam software. This was outlined in the user agreement with insructions of how to uninstall the ad feature. Those instructions did not work for my computer and now I am left with trying to find another way to stop these annoying popups.

thats from a review of this cam you mentioned...

I have a Logitech that I paid about $150 for.  It works pretty nicely.  I have never had an issue with ads.

Sometimes picture quality has to do with the program you're using.  Yahoo IM webcaming sucks.  iVisit was pretty good, quality-wise, but Mac-to-PC would have connection problems.  iVisit also has voice, and the ability to record.  It cost $50/year.

Right now we use SightSpeed.  The quality is really good, and the frame rate is incredible - no lagging or jaggedy movements.  It also allows for voice and cam, and it's free unless you want qualities like recording and sending voicemail or videomail.

We tried AIM but it didn't work so well.

I haven't tried Skype, but I understand it can do voice and video, too.

I don't know what program you use, but Yahoo was the worst for us, quality-wise.

I've never had a pop up ad issue. For the price I paid it is a really high quality piece of merchandise, I would have happily paid 3 times the amount for what I've gotten.

look for the ACME SMELL -O- VISION . 99.99 - mebbe at Amazon. it has 16 7/8 megapixels 29.2 frame rate transfer and a special "odor wand" attachment that you can use to send your scent over the net with. ( of course, the recieving party has to have one too)

it has nothing to do with any programs.  even when not loaded on to a program and just using the software the cam came with ..it was always blurry, grainy...never crystal clear.

i dont use any chat programs as it is because i dont like 3rd party programs due to virus's, spyware crap.  in fact not a single one is loaded on my computer.

i have recently used cm's vid chat.

I'm using a Creative Labs webcam and paid a pittance for it. I get great quality video.
