I never realized to make money, you have to spend more than what the coins and bills are worth. What's Uncle Sam going to do?

I suggest moving to a financial system founded on blood, sweat and tears.

Whilst all humans are capable of producing these new financial instruments, and many humans will on the face of it be rendered of equal financial worth by such a move, it is important to remember that the blood, sweat and tears of some humans are worth far less than those of others - meaning that the average Chinese will still be able to produce cheap jeans for sale in the west, that the blood, sweat and tears of Africans and Muslims remain worthless by comparison to those of an American and that east Europeans will still be exploitable in the UK.

money making cost soem...but every time that same money is spent..they get taxes.
so in the end it will make a nice + for the goverment

get rid of the penny. it is obsolete. i heard some bank is charging people to count coin money. what will they think of next?

I like the e-money concept with the chip implanted inside your body.

No need for paper,coins or plastic cards,just wave your hand over the scanner.

The government/bank will know your income,outgo and spending habits(data to be sold to the highest bidder),and possibly your present location too.

The government/bank will set the pay rates and pay scales,take taxes and "fees",and set the prices that will be deducted after shopping, from your e-money accounts that the government/bank holds.

Never mind the '1984' references.

Of course, if inflation takes off what with all these increases in fuel, utilities, food prices etc - coin money will no longer be useful for anything anyway. Alternatively, removing coins from the currency will tend to drive inflation, as the smallest denomination will be a dollar.

We live in interesting times, which are set to become more interesting.

What do you mean "some bank"? At least in my neck of the woods, none of the local banks (major banks included) will count change if you don't have an account with them and they won't accept if it's not already rolled and counted. On top of that, they charge a fee to count it. So you're left with the coinstar machines which guess what? Charge a fee!

And Owner59, I read 1984 many years ago and I still get the "willies" from it. I can't forget the references. I'm not comfortable with having a chip implanted in me that I can just scan with the wave of a hand. Why not re-do the pricing structure and get rid of the .99 pricing that gives us our odd cent totals? I worked briefly at a local store and heard the owner tell another manager about the psychology of that. Seems that customers think that a product is cheaper and better priced at .99 and will buy it yet think it too expensive and not worth it at 1.00. I learned a lot sitting in that back office being quiet and just listening. The guy was a loud mouth jerk but he knew his stuff.

What a great idea..and then we wouldn't have to worry about ID when we vote. We can just let them scan our 'chip'

Of course if the homeless and illegals have trouble getting a plastic ID card, how hard will it be for them to get the chip.

Emoney chip? Not getting one without a fight. There are too many other things that chip could be used for.

No electronic chips in my body if I get the say so.
