Hello everyone

I'm new to this scene. Just exploring right now, learning all I can.

I'm thinking of attending a local munch. What goes on at those functions? is there usually a speaker or some kind of presentation? or is it just a meet and greet kind of thing?
What should I be expecting?

Welcome to the forums. Most munches are meet and greets, a meal and a few drinks or coffee at a local cafe or pub or restaurant. People generally wear their everyday clothes and it can be a less-intimidating way for you to get to meet some bdsm'ers.

Welcome to CollarMe.

Much activities usually vary from group to group but they are usually meet & greet activities. Sometimes there is a key speaker or topic. Your local munch groups are here:

CLUBS & EDUCATIONAL GROUPS (Warren munch & others)
Michigan Rope (Southfield)

Also on the west side, is The Stocks and Bonds club. 20 years ago is was a very hot, exclusive group of hardcore players. In your travels, you want to see if they are still active.

Detroit is my old hometown and it has a very, very active BDSM community with play parties every weekend. If you go to Noir Leather in Royal Oak, they have BDSM event flyers, newsletters and such in the free magazine rack. Here are some links to other local groups

As a new Dom in the lifestyle you have taken a step over a majoy hurdle that others never take, you admit that you are inexperienced. attend the munches, talk to experienced people, Doms, Masters, subs, slaves. find those that you feel comfortable with, you seem like a smart one in your one short post.
