Griswold -> Big Brown (5/17/2008 9:06:04 PM)

I was just watching a couple of races that horse has been in....that's an amazing animal.  You can just tell he's going to wint the Triple Crown....just watching him run, it's obvious...he can't allow another horse to get even close.

But I reckon Brown's had his run, and I expect he'll lose to Cameron in the next big race. Neither are my choice of horse, mind.

In terms of the triple crown, I didn't know that was his thing. To be honest, I reckon he won't threaten a resurgent Wales.

Did someone mention Oscar Wilde, separated by a common language?

It was a terrific race and BB certainly was still fresh and rarin' to go at the end.  Certainly a much nicer race than two weeks ago.  (RIP Eight Belles)     Being a horse fan for many years I am anxious to see a Triple Crown winner soon!  It's been a long time coming.  But I guess the waiting makes the victory that much sweeter for the colt who can do it all.  Right now I am hoping for a BB Victory at Belmont.   Ken D. is a great jock and BB is a great horse.  Could we see another Secretariat/Turcott duo here?  Stay tuned race fans!

Disappointed Iyam,
I thought this thread was going to be about big brown booty possibly covered in baby oil.
Instead its about a stoopid 'orse.[sm=dunno.gif]

Seeks you philistine ! Even UK racing fans have heard of Big Brown. To be honest i dont know whats the best type of race. Big Brown and Barbaro types, or Affirmed and Alydar types who were seperated by no more than 2 1/2 lengths in total over all 3 races. The duels these two had were awesome and one had to feel sorry for Alydar.

I have no doubts poor Barbaro would have won all three races, but for his fatal injury. It would be nice to see another Triple crown winner since Affirmed, 30 years ago this year !
Several horses have come close, winning any two from three though.

I think of this every time I hear about the horse: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dzhL-0_pC3E

It is an amazing animal, though. I hope he wins.

Big Brown certainly is a talanted horse but something of an enigma to me. His Sire [Boundry] has no reputation at all, The Preakness was a win over the JV team. I'm not very confident he can win the Belmont, there's a reason the Triple Crown hasn't been won in 30 years,  many Derby horses will be back fit & rested. Remember this name, Casino Drive, bred for the Belmont distance, [Mineshaft] & a half-brother to the last two winners [Jazil & Rags To Riches]

Well, LOL....a smidge out of context hahahahahaha....but a heck of a fun link :)

I think BB could have kept running yesterday, all alone the Belmont distance.  Thank you peterK50 for your tips on the other 2 horses .......may make an interesting trifecta bet!

if the jockey takes steroids will the horse go faster? [8|]

Renee7852 -> RE: Big Brown (5/18/2008 9:25:06 AM)

  Sometimes a horse comes out of the blue and proves that with enough heart, stamina and *want to win* attitude the impossible can become history.  (Think Seabisquit!)

Depends on how fast the jockey runs.
