Good Morning, You have been awakened this morning by a knock on the door----a distinguished, suited gentleman with proper credentials informs you, that you have been given the sum of $100,000 tax free ( tax forms are supplied and validated)--There are however three conditions:

1. $5000 must be used for a stranger--someone you know but who doesn't  know you--this stranger must reside within a 50 mile radius and it must be used to better their lives. ( no charity must be an individual)

2. $5,000 must be used for some good in your immediate town ( no charity, must be a specific use)

3. $5,000 must be given to a member of your family to make their lives better

You have $85,000 to use at your discretion.

How would you allocate 1,2,3 and what would you do with the rest?

1; i'd buy a can of baby formula, and stick  the remaing money in between the plastic lid and the safety seal. Then i'd give the can of formula to a food bank.   i don't know anyone that doesn't know me in return.

2; i'd spend the money on native wild flower seeds, and scatter them all over the place.

3; i'd give it to my mother. she just had surgury to remove cancer from her lungs.

me; i'd get fang dental implants, and fix the rest of my teeth.
put half the remaining towards the morgage
and the rest in a savings account

Ohhhhh...

1. Find a big issue seller. Hand it over.

2. Buy a decent computor for a local school- a state one of course

3. My mum of course, she has always been there for me and my dad isnt so good on sharing the wealth!

For me, firstly a really decent iPod dock and speakers. And then I'd buy most of iTunes!

Several pairs of prescription sunglasses cos they are so very dear.

A sizable chunk to Great Ormand Street and Breast Cancer Research. And Childrens Hospice South West.

And a big tattoo!

( no charity must be an individual)  ---flash it in front of my neighbours kids and say to them...now if you were a boy-girl (what they call me) you could make this kind of money too.  (thus using advice)

2. $5,000 must be used for some good in your immediate town ( no charity, must be a specific use) ----give it to the old lady down the street with 20 cats so they can be fixed.

3. $5,000 must be given to a member of your family to make their lives better
----i'd use it to get implants... my boobies are a family member you know.

1.  A person.......can it be an anonymous gift?  One of my clients lost her husband and is struggling....  so is my best friend, but she can have a piece of that 85K...
2.  Locally......jeez.  There is  new park by my house, I would set up a proper parking lot and signs, and put in some benches.
3.  Mom gets the money.

85K?  Invest 50.  Pay off my plastic and pre pay my bills for the year....  which leaves enough for a gift for the BFF!

3) None of my immediate family are in need of money, although I do have a third cousin who might find it useful.

1) I'd call the local charity and ask them for the name of an individual and what they need, then buy them their wish list and put the boxes on their doorstep, ring bell and hide behind a tree. I find it inappropriate to hand somebody money and wait there for them to abase themselves with gratitude when what they are more likely feeling is humiliation at being in this much need.

2) The local library built an extension to the building finally a couple of years ago, I'd ask them for their wish list of books and help fill the empty shelves.

With the rest? Might buy a new golf cart for the barn my daughter rides at. Their's is getting old and besides it isn't uncommon for the kids to be at different shows on a weekend, and one golf cart can't be in two different places at the same time.

1. used for a stranger
I would give 5k to the hot-ass albino checkout girl at the local grocery.

2. used for some good in your immediate town
I would advise the girl I am dating that getting the disproportionately large boob job she wanted was a good idea.  Daytona has as much silicone as South Beach and I would consider it a continuation of the community beautification program.

3. member of your family to make their lives better

I’d give my brother the money, he can use it.

$85,000 to use at your discretion...

I would launch the marketing campaign for the book my dad wrote about curing arthritis.

Good Morning, You have been awakened this morning by a knock on the door----a distinguished, suited gentleman with proper credentials informs you, that you have been given the sum of $100,000 tax free ( tax forms are supplied and validated)--There are however three conditions:

How would you allocate 1,2,3 and what would you do with the rest?

I'd start with "do call again".....and then get down to spending my hard earned wedge.

1) I'd buy my dog, Duke, a new hat, and give him the receipt in the event he's not suited. It's debatable whether or not my dog is aware of anything past the bitch down the street (including me).

2) I'd buy my dog's best mate, Rex, (the two of them go everywhere together) a new hat, so they can march 'round together as proud as punch (collectively).

3) I'd take my grandma on a cruise - making sure she has plenty of brandy to guide her along the way.

With the rest, I'd put the lot on a 33/1 shot horse.

i would give it to a neighbor in my townhouse complex. i heard from another neighbor that she was recently diagnosed with cervical cancer and has started chemo. she has become quite ill from the side effects and unable to work. she is also the single mother of two teenage boys.

2. $5,000 must be used for some good in your immediate town ( no charity, must be a specific use)

i would petion the city and get some land donated for a community garden. the 5 grand would be start up money to purchase tools, organic fertilizers, seeds and plants. i think the world would be a better place if we all had our hands in dirt. gardning is life affirming and connects us to one of our basic needs.. food. i have often said that flowers are food for the soul. a well tended garden where flowers touch vegetables is a heavenly place to me and i would like to share that with others.

3. $5,000 must be given to a member of your family to make their lives better

i would give it to my neice and her family. they are a young family struggling to make it. 5 grand could take the edge off of that struggle.

You have $85,000 to use at your discretion.

i would quit my job, buy a new car and move close to an awesome Dominant Sadist man who i have such a passionate lust for and see how it goes (i have no doubt it would go his way). i would find a resonably priced place to live and enroll in school full time to get my Bachelor of Science in nursing.

How would you allocate 1,2,3 and what would you do with the rest?

1)  A friend of a friend is really struggling right now, without reliable transportation.  A good used economy car for her and the ___'s.

2)  Some decent playground equipment for the local domestic violence shelter.

3)  My baby sister has a lot of student loan debt

4)  Remodel the kitchen and put in the home theater.

1.  I'd go to the free legal aid clinic, chat with some folks to see who's getting fucked over the worst, and give them the cash.

2.  Have all the fucking traffic lights switch to using traffic sensors instead of an inflexible timer.

3.  Using the 5k plus another 20k from my discretionary share, I'd by my folks a safer car.

4.  The rest would pay off some student loans.

1.  Hang out for five minutes at the bus station.  I can guarantee I will find a hobo to give the money to.

2.  Buy dynamite.  Blow up Joe's Rocks.  [It's...a local thing.  Trust me, it would improve the town.]

3.  Give it my mum and tell her it's for all those times she slipped me a bit of cash when I was down.

As for the rest?  Well, duh.  Strippers.

1.   I can't think of anyone I know who doesn't know me, so I suppose I'd make some discreet inquiries about kids at the local elementary school who are on the free-lunch program and give it to them.

2.  Same theme:  Our local elementary school is at 153% of its intended capacity, I'd split the money between each classroom to buy supplies

3.  Of course this 5 grand is going to my mom, along with a few extra bucks

4.  2 words:  Body Sculpting  lol   and a good chunk into my daughter's college fund

1. I'd give it to M.G. he needs a fresh start.
2. I'd give it to a no-kill animal shelter in my city.
3. This one is hard...I immediately thought of my kids...but which one?.....then maybe my sister, or her son(my nephew) that just graduated high school AND college(associates degree) at the same time! aunts...uncles...cousins....the list goes on. So I would probably end up giving it to my sister....she would do the most good with it.
The 85,000 thats left ...I would buy freedom.

Now see, i like that idea, DesFIP...

or Phin's Goodwill idea.

Ooh, a local flower garden would be nice...

3. $5,000 must be given to a member of your family to make their lives better

Hmm, first thought would be to split it between Mom and Dad... Mom to help with her  sewing/quilting/doll collecting hobby... Dad, a new power tool or two, or a down payment on that boat he's been interested in...

You have $85,000 to use at your discretion.

Hmm, repay some family members first, buy a car, update my laptop with a new one (muwahaha), buy new furniture for my apartment... save the rest...

I work in a convenience store and every morning the sweetest man, with the nicest smile and disposition, comes in to get his coffee cup refil. We know each other only in the sense that we say good morning and I take his .85. There is just something about him that makes me think he would be the one person I would pick.

2. $5,000 must be used for some good in your immediate town ( no charity, must be a specific use)

I love the wildflower idea that someone above had. Or, I would put a freaking street light at the corner so I don't have to pray for my life whenever I have to cross the intersection.

3. $5,000 must be given to a member of your family to make their lives better

I would give it to my daughter upon her 18th birthday.

You have $85,000 to use at your discretion.

It would go directly into the hands of my Sir, who would put it in an interest bearing account for our downpayment on our dream home.

1. I work at a local restaurant and there is a man who comes in every few weeks when he has built up enough to order soup and salad and have a glass of water for roughly $6.50 after taxes, and he is a very sweet man, I think he is a stranger enough to me so I will give him the money.....

2. Something for my local community....Hmmmm??? Well there are some local shelters for battered women and children I think I will give it to one of those I know they could use it.

3. Family member??? Hmmmm....... My aunt as she raised me and took care of me my entire life and I know that even though it is only five thousand it would take some stress off somewhere...... And she will get more from my share for myself.......

Now I have $85,000.00 for me well hmmmm, as I am a pre-med student I am going to say that I will put a great deal of that towards my education so that I am not in sooooo much debt with student loans...... Roughly another 10k will go to my aunt for her to use at her discretion..... And if there is any left after paying for education then  I will invest otherwise I suppose it went for a good reason......
