Alien spacecraft are so cool. Nitrous dragsters have nothing on them!!!

quote:

The men, each with more than eight years on the job, described how they were helping guide a small plane to a landing on runway 22 when they were distracted by a brightly lit object approaching a different runway without clearance.

"Everyone became aware that the object was unidentified," their report said. "SATCO (code name for a controller with 14 years experience) reports that the object came in 'at speed,' made a touch and go on runway 27, then departed at 'terrific speed' in a 'near vertical' climb."

The incident is one of the more credible in the newly public files because it was reported by air traffic controllers, said David Clarke, a UFO expert who worked with the National Archives on the document release.

"They were absolutely astonished," he said. "It was a bright, circular object, flashing different colors, and after it touched down it disappeared at fantastic speed. The report comes from very qualified people, and it's one of the few that remained unexplained."

"Close Encounter's of the Third Kind" is one of my favourite movies. I'm disappointed that there was no mention of it playing a tune.......
The folks at virtuallystrange.net will be happy.

I don't believe it was a UFO. I suspect it's some sort of highly developed vehicle for transporting baggage between aircraft and terminal at London Heathrow's Terminal Five.

they're stopping for a pit stop on their way to the next galaxy.  it's not our greenhouse gasses causing global warming, it's the galaxy's outhouse gasses!  a species that can travel between star systems is going to come here in search of intelligent life?  please!  with what's floating in our area in terms of radio waves and television transmissions?  intelligent?

They're only releasing stories from the last 20 years, so clearly the Greys have used a hypno-ray to scramble the brains of those who know the terrible truth about Baroness Thatcher.

It may have been a pair of mating butterflies. Why do they keep worthless and ridiculous testimonies like this secret? Obviously they have got something to hide. Equally obviously this report is not it.

Sanity -> RE: Britain releases batch of files on UFO sightings (5/14/2008 6:13:21 AM)

You call this worthless and ridiculous? The sober testimony of a whole shift of air traffic controllers at a major British airport?

What could possibly satisfy you then.

Yep.

They may have been sober as in not being inebriated. They also appear to have been stoned. I have rarely if ever read such a useless heap of crap.

How about some facts, preferably supported by the testimonies of other, independent parties that were not stoned.

RealityLicks -> RE: Britain releases batch of files on UFO sightings (5/14/2008 6:37:01 AM)

Ent-moot.

Sanity -> RE: Britain releases batch of files on UFO sightings (5/14/2008 6:48:50 AM)

You're not making any sense at all, at least not to me. What evidence do you have that they were all stoned? I would hope that they would be the last group of people who you would find to be in any way intoxicated.

Rule -> RE: Britain releases batch of files on UFO sightings (5/14/2008 7:04:02 AM)

Their testimony might apply to anything, like for example a mating pair of butterflies. Hence it is utterly useless. It has no scientific value at all.

Assuming that they did indeed had fun purposely reporting a pair of mating butterflies in such vague terms as to give the impression that they had observed a UFO, my conclusion is that they were either insane, stoned or irresponsible.

I already know and accept that billions of people consider me to make no sense at all. Thank you for the compliment.

Zensee -> RE: Britain releases batch of files on UFO sightings (5/14/2008 10:12:53 AM)

Do you mean that trans-dimensional, hypersonic butterflies from the universe next door are having a shag fest on good old planet dirt? Ewwww... I feel so violated!
