ORIGINAL: SimplyMichael quote:
Have you ever gone back into a relationship because of the need to receive/give pain either physically and/or emotionally? Only when I used to be totally dysfunctional. When I have been dysfunctional I have never realised. To be honest I therefore don't believe I have ever been totally dysfunctional. Compensatory yes, as I have outlined: part of me has always carried on. I've become fascinated by biographies of poets and writers, thinkers, philosophers, much more so than theor works. Viewed biographically many greats appear 'dysfunctional' and indeed ones who kept going back. I read and was teaching yesterday about two poems both entitled Wuthering Heights one by Ted Hughes and one by his beloved Sylvia Plath. Written between the lines is everything about their so-called dysfuncyional relationship, his dominance and sadly I feel her near-madness. BUT the world is better off in the syzergy of it all than if they had never ever met. Prin xx
