missturbation -> Scar explanations!! (5/13/2008 12:49:08 PM)

I'm pretty sure this has been discussed before, in fact i know it has i just can't find it. [:'(]
Amazingly for the UK we are having some really nice weather and me as the clothes and shoe loving person i am, have got my legs, boobs and back out!
Other than people going yak put some clothes on woman i find myself with a bit of a problem. [:o]
How do i explain the scars i have acquired over the past year? They are getting more prominent as i get more tanned and have been noticed by several.
Now i really have no problem saying 'oh they are whip scars', being truthful im very proud of them. However i tried that and it didn't go down too well and ended up in an indepth convo about how i consented to be whipped, lifestyle dynamics etc etc. I really cant go through that everytime someone asks me.
On the other hand i really dont want to lie either.
Any clever suggestions please?

Smile cleverly and say nothing?

missturbation -> RE: Scar explanations!! (5/13/2008 12:55:19 PM)

Definately worth a try, thank you x

The truth is, you don't owe people answers.  But I know you also don't want to be rude.  So a glimmer in your eye is response enough.  [;)]

SteelofUtah -> RE: Scar explanations!! (5/13/2008 12:59:32 PM)

I used to do Knife play (Scarification with Disposible Scalpals) and although my former girl had really pretty stuff which was covered when her back was out there was LOTS of random Scars there (Not me done by the last guy who basically Maimed her)

When every someone even started "Oh My Gosh, what happened to your..............."

In a monotone and simple answer she said "Car accident I went through the windshield" and then went back to what she was doing and usually no one asked further. If they did she made up a story on the spot. When she did tell the truth it ALWAYS got ugly with people always making her feel like a freak and asking her how she could enjoy that, Oddly enough even those with Tattoos couldn't understand and it's BASICALLY the same thing.

Fuck um I don't like the questions so I was okay with her car accident story.

However I LOVE having to explain that my wife is just Clumsy when she shows up with Bruises because and here is the thing the ONLY mark that stays on my wife for longer than an hour is an ACCIDENTAL BRUISE but no matter what I look like a wife beater so go figure. I have found it is usually easiest to explain the bruises when I go "Oh Yeah... I just like kicking the shit outta her" they laugh and nothing more gets said.

I'll never understand people

Steel

Just because you are asked a question, you don't have to answer it.  Of course, you don't have to SAY you aren't answering.

For example:
Curious dweeb: Are those scars?
Your response: Life for a graduate student at Oxford can be stressful.
                        or
                       Never ask Maggie Thatcher if she is feeling her age
Smile sadly and walk away

Madame4a -> RE: Scar explanations!! (5/13/2008 1:06:57 PM)

When I'm asked a question that is really no one's business and is rude...

I usually smile and say.. "its exactly what you're thinking"

missturbation -> RE: Scar explanations!! (5/13/2008 1:09:50 PM)

Steel, i can't lie, i'm crap at it lol. When i was with my ex dom he did use the 'i beat the shit out of her with a whip line' though and we got the same response. Maybe i could just say 'my ex beat the crap out of me with a whip'. Somehow i don't think it would go down the same though.

John warren, lol i'll try those or something similar.

Here are a few more you might consider.

"I have rough hobbies"

"I have a very active life these are just marks from living it."

"For some of us Sex is a full contact sport"

Just gotta get a little creative is all.

MladyHathor -> RE: Scar explanations!! (5/13/2008 1:59:43 PM)

a standard line we've used for years---yeah scars huh---you should have seen the other guy---took him out in a body bag. Walk away-- Story over.

Pyrrsefanie -> RE: Scar explanations!! (5/13/2008 2:21:46 PM)

Real conversation between me and some annoying girl at work:

Her: "Oooh, where'd you get those scars on your legs from, they look nasty?!"
Me: "Oooh, where'd you get your boobs from, they look fake?!"

Win.

MamaDomme1 -> RE: Scar explanations!! (5/13/2008 2:39:38 PM)

I was raised in the deep southeastern part of the United States where very short shorts are the norm in the summertime.  My cousin (also enjoys the BDSM life) used to always have lovely little bruises on her upper legs---   people (usually nosey little old ladies) would ask her where she got her bruises and she would smile demurely and then say "I love rough sex.... next question?"

It shut them up very fast!

kiwisub12 -> RE: Scar explanations!! (5/13/2008 2:44:01 PM)

Walked through a plateglass window when drunk
My mother took the bible too literally  - she didn't want me spoiled
You should have seen the other guy
My surgeon was drunk
You know - they need to put up signs when they take manhole covers off.
I was at the prom with Carrie
The cat thought i was a toy
I had to let the evil spirits out before they took me over.
Did you know that knives are sharp?

tempest74 -> RE: Scar explanations!! (5/13/2008 2:51:09 PM)

"I was at the prom with Carrie." = priceless

subtee -> RE: Scar explanations!! (5/13/2008 2:53:32 PM)

~FR

It's an allergy. Instead of it affecting my nose, I get those marks when nosy people are near me.

abqowner -> RE: Scar explanations!! (5/13/2008 2:56:53 PM)

I was all set with my clever advice, only to see that Steel of Utah has the same ready answer I do.  I've got tons of scars, especially from knife play.  If anyone is truly so clueless that they ask, they're generally the well meaning numb minded sort anyway who just like to talk.  Usually they'll believe anything if answered in the same manner.  So I just smile warmly and tell them about my car accident - straight through the window.  Let this be a lesson - buckle up!  I've yet to see any reaction but grave agreement... seatbelts are just wonderful, don't 'ca know?

Sheesh!  Mundanes.  [;)]

Aanakaris -> RE: Scar explanations!! (5/13/2008 3:02:30 PM)

I have a huge scar between my shoulder blades with an embarrasing story behind it. When asked about it I usually say, "What scar? Oh my god, I have a scar?????"

Telling them truthfully that somebody tried to murder me and failed just doesn't go over very well.

"I was mauled by a bear" once got me some interesting responses.

Howard
