See now I never thought of that. I guess it WOULD detract from the "reality" of the scene if the Dom provided ear protection for you. I mean if he is really going to shoot you, he wouldn't be concerned if you got Tinnitus right? If only he is wearing ear muffs though....be very concerned!

Man, I'm naive! I come to this conclusion every so often. It didn't occur to me that some people would actually shoot the gun.

I've only done this once.. it did two things to me...

I've never experienced the "gun thing" .. as some here are calling it. I love knives - the bigger and pointier the better! ( Yes, size matters!)

I would enjoy gun play - I think. I would need to talk about it allllll prior to the scene.. days ahead.. weeks ahead... whatever, maybe so that I would forget we had ever mentioned it - discussed it long beforehand. Then the "realness" of the fright would work for me. Puddle of stupid and goo included.

You know my Sir said the same thing when I talked of a fantasy with a gun. He has 2 hand guns and a Military rifle. He is an expert marksman and likes target shooting. Also for protection. He said he would never point a gun at anyone. Unless he was protecting himself.

I once used gunplay as part of a kidnap scenario with a former girlfriend many years ago.
Details aren't necessary, but it was hot. Very hot. Is it risky? Of course. If you don't know your way around a gun, by all means use a non-firing replica or as some have mentioned...a watergun.
I was trained in the use of firearms by a licensed instructor who was former military. I don't claim to be an expert, but I know what I'm doing with My guns.
Do I engage in gunplay now? No. Will I again in the future? Possibly. My little girl is uncomfortable around guns, but she trusts Me. So much in fact that when we talked about guns and gunplay, she said "I know you would never harm me so that kind of takes away the point of gunplay." A good point on her part.
So, there really is no desire to go there at this time.

Being 32 year military retiree, would never introduce a firearm of any sort into play, am well experience with firearms of all calibers, accidents happen from some of the most easiest and dumbest things with firearms, have seen persons shot, first thing have heard was " I thought it was unloaded!!".
