my interest in masturbating has decreased over the years. When I was a kid and a teen I would masturbate like every week, and now It's next to never. maybe like once a month.

Very funny. But believe it not, what inspired the question was not a fetish for arts 'n crafts... though i have been known to leave a glitter trail in the past.

I asked about *lowers voice so the kiddies can't hear* masterbation out of perverse curiosity.

As a transsexual, i've noted that my drive for such things is completely tied to my hormones. Growing up as a boy, i went about it daily. It was about as ritualistic as brushing my teeth. Like it was relieving some sort of pressure valve.

But once i got on female hormones, over time i completely stopped. No more playing the pipe organ. After a couple of years in fact, i began to look at the very thought of tickling the taco as gross. A waste of time. Why bother?

My entire way of thinking about the act changed dramatically. Intimacy suddenly became sacred. Something reserved for being with your partner. Not something to be wasted alone.

So by asking the question i was curious to see if there was a noticable difference between the way men and women responded. Silly me.

Was just curious as to whether or not others saw masturbation as a male domain. I'm probably wrong, as evidenced by the post above. Believe me. its not male domain. I masterbate just about everyday and sometimes twice, unless I am with my Sir and we are getting down together. But I am sure this is individual according to individual sex drives and also hormonal. I have always had a high sex drive but it was squelched a bit while I was heavier and married to one with a low sex drive. Sex begets more sex. Plus I am way hornier now than I ever was. Call it a pre-menopausal surge. Some have said that a woman's testosterone levels go up in their 40's. I don't know if that is true but It sounds plausible.

it depends, for me. i live and sleep with someone who has made it quite clear that he is no longer interested in me sexually. for getting close to 2 years now. and when i'm not feeling wanted, my sex drive wanes, drastically.

Daddy loves and wants me. that's made a large difference in the way i see myself. masturbation has become a regular reality for me once more...some days more so. TheEngineer loves the fact that when i'm happy and feeling wanted, my sex drive is pretty much constant. he encourages me to masturbate often.

I've read in a medical mag (while at the doctor's office, I do not recall which mag), that women's levels of testosterone do not increase, instead their levels of estrogen decrease, which makes the testosterone more prevalent when they reach menopause. In the same article, there were findings that the reverse is true with males, and their sex drive decreases (or problems arise) due to testosterone levels decreasing, allowing estrogen to be more prevalent than when they were younger.

Thank you. This is more along the lines of what i was getting at.

When i was taking anti-testosterones and estrogens (for 8 years) it had a dramatic affect on my libido. It was a slow change, not something that happened over night, but eventually i felt like my sex drive when from 60 mph down to about 10 mph.

Sex no longer became important, nor did masturbation. But intimacy remained very important. Intimacy with a lover was what i craved... not a potential orgasm.

On a blood test... men have testosterone levels in the range of something like 250-1000. Women have a normal testosterone range of 10-75. When my numbers started hitting around 20 my sex drive was gone. Dead.

Sometimes i wonder if people realize how the two are tied together. And if you have a high or low sex drive - it's just a part of your chemical makeup.

Too, if a woman has a high sex drive, i wonder if she has high testosterone levels, (and consequently increased hair growth on her body) or is her drive high for some other, psychological reason?

This is what i've heard as well as a woman's progesterone (sp) increases and so that women become basically similar in libido to 20- something guys ......

That whole thing you cited tho...just goes to show that God (or whoever one believes in) is totally a sadist!....It's such a sick joke isn't it??? Women get more intensely reved and men wanna watch t.v and sleep.....TRUE SADISM.
