I'd rather you were wrong.

I'm wrong quite often as it happens; I've been saving up bottles of wine I get from work each Christmas to sell when I retire using the theory that old wine is more expensive but I recently checked my free wine collection and none of the bottles have dates on it is really quite peculiar. I'm wondering if the date is given on the label somewhere else but it reads in code 'Mis en bouteille par VP Á71960F'. If this turns out that I've been given worthless wine my retirement plan is in dire trouble. I should have checked this a bit sooner and the fact the bottle has a screw on top doesn't help.[:D]

I'd say a reevaluation of your retirement investment plan is in order. Hahahaha

if the bottle has a screw-on top, give it to a hobo

Yeah, but at least when you find out that you're destitute, you have on hand a head-start on becoming a wino....[X(]

Raechard -> RE: crying "wolf" (5/10/2008 4:59:35 PM)

Actually there was a recent study that screw on tops were no worse than cork, he says protecting his investment.[8|]

I'm taking up calligraphy so that I can put the dates on later.

Well, in that case there's no need to have all that crap hanging around taking up space now... subtract thirty years or so and go to town!

I can't fault your logic.

Besides it would be really annoying if someone stole my wine when I was 67.

While you're at it, might as well label them all Domaine LeRoy Romanee-Conti and Le Montrachet.

I've never been much of a wine expert I have to confess so I'll probably just end up drinking my retirement. Funny how people get caught up in spending all their money because someone put the idea about that old wine tastes better.

http://www.metro.co.uk/news/article.html?in_article_id=30063&in_page_id=34

The above article is about 138 year old beer I find it funny how they try to convince themselves it tastes great and was well worth the price.

I often find myself craving for the termite ridden old staircase wood.

(Edit: old wine tastes better when old dur[:D])

definate jail time, that might make it so less women try to pull that kinda shit when they get caught cheating.... or when they jst want to try and get rid of a guy

I bet she walks with probation.

I heard somewhere, (sorry, can't find the reference anymore) that for the same crime in the US, a woman stands a 20% chance of a conviction, and less than 25% chance of serving more than the minimum sentence, whereas a man is likely to be convicted 75% of the time and more than even chances of serving the maximum sentence, death penalty excluded.

I think that in some Southern states, if a man caught his wife in flagrante delicto, and shot her,  he would up for a charge of manslaughter.  When the reverse happened (wife shoots cheating husband), the woman would face 1st degree murder charges.

One hopes old codes like that would be off the books, but there are amazingly weird laws out there.
