LOS ANGELES - A memorabilia dealer who profited from O.J. Simpson for many years is the latest former crony to write a tell-all book, this one alleging a groggy Simpson, high on marijuana, confessed to killing his ex-wife after he was acquitted.

I kind of doubt the honesty of the guy that "wrote" the book.  He's obviously doing this for money.  It's not exactly news.  Everyone knows OJ is guilty, and I think most people are tired of hearing about it.  OJ has no money, and his life is a shambles.  He is old news, and he pretty much fucked himself with these robbery charges.  He's going to die miserable and broke.  It's not exactly the punishment people wanted for him, but it's not bad.

According to folks DomAviator,OJ`s innocent.

See? Now that was easy....

are confessions under intoxications actually accepted?

O.J. Simpson killed someone when did this happen and why didn't I hear about it?

Just you people wait; OJ will find that killer, and it will be on a golf course.....

It doesn't matter. He's been criminally acquitted and lost a wrongful death suit brought by the two estates. He could go on Oprah and tell exactly how he did it and nobody in law enforcement could do anything.

Lucky he doesn’t live in the UK because we did away with that double jeopardy thing, I've always been concerned as to how they define new significant evidence though.

Or he could write a book....

I don't think he can afford to play golf anymore.  He may find the killer behind the pirate ship on a put-put course he's the janitor at.

When did the UK have a double jeopardy restriction? We specifically have it due to abuses of the justice system by british authorities.

Not sure where you get your information from as to the evils of UK law?

Raechard -> RE: OJ confessed to murder according to former friend (5/10/2008 1:56:59 PM)

It’s now called triple jeopardy it seems[8|]

Alumbrado -> RE: OJ confessed to murder according to former friend (5/10/2008 1:57:03 PM)

It will be interesting to see how long that 'only a few cases a year' lasts, as well as the standard for new evidence.  Not that any government would try to abuse something like that of course.

I'll have to dig up the details but one of the things that riled up the colonists was the British government ordering people arrested and transported to England for trial after being acquitted in the colonies.

To say that King George and his representatives were ignoring the Magna Carta prior to the Revolution would be something of an understatement.

Raechard -> RE: OJ confessed to murder according to former friend (5/10/2008 2:26:52 PM)

It's probable my version of history will tell the tale of a court with no authority passing acquittals, so we may as well not go down memory lane because we all have a different memory of that time. One isn't going to convince the other that their historic events are more just.

If the glove don't fit you must acquit.
