You might also look at the artwork of Michael Manning. Although he doesn't create much tat "flash" per se, he does feature a lot of model in his work who sport some very interesting graphic designs on their skins. It might be a starting point.

I have an extremely hard time believing that Michael Manning somehow copied your tattoo.  Which image was it?

domahpet -> RE: tattoo - help please (5/10/2008 3:16:08 PM)

dont seem to be any dates on his drawings, but mine was done in 1984.
after coming to live on my leg, it was also published on the cover of a bay area buddist magazine.

faerytattoodgirl -> RE: tattoo - help please (5/10/2008 3:27:57 PM)

artists often steal designs...they are called scratchers and posers.

domahpet -> RE: tattoo - help please (5/10/2008 3:34:03 PM)

yep youre right faery,
at least my original and my leg are signed
(the original is even dated)

stef -> RE: tattoo - help please (5/10/2008 3:37:35 PM)

His work is almost always dated, but he uses little glyphs that encompass his initials and the year.  Some are more easily deciphered than others.

Can you post a link to the image?

Aileen1968 -> RE: tattoo - help please (5/10/2008 3:44:33 PM)

Can you post a picture of the tattoo on your leg?

Raechard -> RE: tattoo - help please (5/10/2008 3:46:41 PM)

That is one skinny dragon.

Aileen1968 -> RE: tattoo - help please (5/10/2008 3:47:18 PM)

You are most welcome Aileen, I was thinking Walt Disney has a lot to answer for because I always considered dragons to be a bit rounder in nature not having seen a real one and only having seahorses to compare them with.

In my mind a seahorse with legs, arms and wings is the same as a dragon.

In other news I thought that film Beowulf had real actor's playing the parts until I couldn't work out why they were so expressionless.

I took a generic pic, tinkerbell, and put a collar on her.  It's on my arm an generally seen by the public if I'm wearing short sleeves.  I wanted something that could be seen by people (my kids included) and not draw attention to the meaning unless someone was really looking.  Most people that see it just think it's odd that I have tink on my arm.  However, the people that notice the collar, usually end up having rather interesting conversations.

I've always wondered what Tink would look like in handcuffs and legirons...

ImpishKitteh -> RE: tattoo - help please (5/10/2008 5:07:07 PM)

The tattoo I have wanted, was one paw print the name "Kitten" then other paw print and a pair of handcuffs. :)

But I am so nervous to get a tattoo
