Status: offline 		I'm reading Sharon Osbournes second bigraphy at the moment. In it she talks about how she turns from respectful and considerate to pit bull when she feels those close to her are being attacked.
It led me to thinking how i would react if whilst out (without my partner) someone verbally attacked them. Would i react respectfully and point out politely that that was someone i care about they were slandering? Or would i turn into, in Sharons words a pit bull and rip them apart?
So out of curiosity how would you as a sub / slave react if your Dom had no expectations of you in this area?
How do you think / know your Dom would expect you to react?
And for the doms / dommes how do you think your sub / slave would react with no expectations set from you?
And how would you expect your sub / slave to react?

Status: offline 		If anyone attacked me in any way, my girl would probably go off.  Of course, she'd be right behind my SO (my family is very protective of me).  I don't really have any expectations of her in that regard, other than to protect my property.  After all, if some random stranger is attacking me, they don't deserve respect from me and most certainly not my girl.  So, as long as she doesn't do anything to get herself injured or taken into custody, I trust her to handle herself appropriately.

Status: offline 		i generally try to find a way of letting the offending person that they are on very shaky ground.  if they find it necessary to persist, i shake the ground more for them to either believe their peril, of for them to fall over.  i then smile politely and continue with what i was doing.

I would speak up in His defense without one second's hesitation.  People are entitled to their opinions of Him but I will not hear trash talk about the Man I love and respect more than any other man on earth.  If they have something to say about Him, they should say it TO Him.  Trashing Him behind His back is cowardly to say the least.  Not only would that lose any level of respect I may have had for said person, but would cause me without a doubt to set them straight.

Master would expect no less of me.  Fortunately, His life is 99 44/100% drama free so I have never heard a bad word about Him.  The couple times we have become involved with anyone who would attempt to bring drama in, they get dropped out of our life/relationship like a hot potato with no looking back.  I would be shocked to hear trash talk about Him but wouldn't hesitate to speak up for Him in His absense and then tell Him everything that was said on both sides.  If He can't depend on me to defend Him against all comers, who can He depend on?...................luci

Status: offline 		Unlike Sharon Osbourne's husband, The Man doesn't do stupid things that cause other people to be contemptuous of him. And her going "pit bull" probably makes them even more certain that all the things they've heard to his discredit are true. She can get them to stop talking while she's there, but she can't get them to change their opinions. The only way for that to happen is for him to change his behavior and prove, over time, that he has changed.

Status: offline 		My sub and I both are pitbulls, we'd rip them apart. We protect each other and are usually pretty laid back unless someone tries to mess with us, then they can deal with both of us.

I really wouldn't have any expectations of him in this matter, simply because I'm surprisingly capable of being very, very nasty right back to people.  I apparently have the uncanny ability to break somebody completely down into a quivering pile of tears and insecurity with just a few words.

But as far as how he'd react?  He's a good pitbull, he is.  Underneath that submissive exterior he's still a loyal and somewhat jealous husbandly type who would probably snap a guy in half for staring at my ass, let alone saying something mean to me.  Actually, I don't even want to THINK about what he'd do to somebody who tried to start shit with me...

Status: offline 		Initially, i always react with tact, respect and grace... if the person happens to pay the slightest bit of attention, they would see perfectly the look of murderous intent in my eyes. If said person persisted, i would chew them off at the ankles . i always act to protect those that i care about.

Status: offline 		she'd probably verbaly rip them a new fundamental oraffice, the main difference between how I know she WOULD react and how I WANT her to react is that her natural reaction  is likely to be more confrontational than I would wish. If some plebian has an issue with Me, big deal like I actualy care what they think? Nope, so the one line put down and dismissal is actualy more applicable. But I do understand My girls draw to give them both barrels even if they ain't worth the effort.

as for me, i can't change the world and i wouldn't waste my breath sinking to their level or giving them the satisfaction of trying to rebute their claims; after-all, what do i care what other people think of my significant other; the important thing is how i feel and think about them.  i'm not that emotionally reactive or immature!

Status: offline 		My Master is constantly surprised about how often I talk about Him with our mutual friends - as yet no-one has said anything disrespectful in my presence, but if they did they'd discover I can be a thoroughly unpleasant little cow when provoked.  I think standing up for the person you care about is fairly universal, just the methods that vary.

myself, i find that smiling sweetly and saying something like "why in the world would you think it was ok to say that to me?" tends to shut folks up quickly.

Status: offline 		I have a long standing opinion that women (myself included) have difficulty finding the balance between passive and pitbull.  Asserting one's opinion forcefully without attacking can be difficult.

Status: offline 		Depends on the form the attack occurs and to whom is being attacked....example: someone verbally attacks my UM or parents...well consider that parents are elderly and UM , although adult, still my UM..then verbal pitbull it would be with a twist of some way humiliating the piece of garbage who dared.I would bring that person as far down the rabbit hole as I could take them......if verbal attack towards my Dominant..then I would, calmly,coldly slice and dice but ...then I would inform the Dominant in question with this info and let him decide the best course of action, for to me, he has his own thoughts and wishes upon how such should be handled.........Tempting

Status: offline 		I have yet to have anyone say anything less than respectful about my Sir in my presence. and if they were silly enough to, then i would verbally respond with all the dignity and evil mouth at my control. I can have a very nasty tongue while remaining polite.  

I have had a report that a sub that was allowed to come to our house and play with Sir was saying ugly things about Sir to others that we know, and i wanted to take a cane to her. I can handle her having bad thoughts about Sir, but disloyalty i will not tolerate in anyone. Sir was amused at my reponse, and she didn't come to the house any more.

Status: offline 		I was popular among my colleagues this past Friday when one of them ignorantly commented that people with dyslexia are feigning learning difficulties to gain 'special treatment'. My son has two forms of dyslexia, ordinary word blindness and also audio phonic dyslexia, of which neither are recognised in the education/health system in the UK and which means he has had severe learning difficulties. My son's 'special treatment' consisted of remedial classes which, to someone of a higher than average I.Q, are inadequate and hold them back even further, so I had to pay for him to attend an American based school in London that deals specifically with children that have profound dyslexia.

So... to tell me my kid is a lazy so and so especially when he works six days a week and twelve hours a day and has a degree in sports science is not going to go down well, but rather than resort to ripping her a 'new one', I preferred to let her languish in her embarrassment when I pointed out my son's accomplishments. She behaved ignorantly, I wasn't about to join her.

As for my sub, he's very level headed, no one has grounds to criticise him regarding his decisions/actions and should there ever come a time when that happens, he reacts as he has been taught - with good manners.

Status: offline 		She knows she can handle such situations as she sees fit - I trust her judgment. I suspect she would diffuse the situation with her sense of humor and laugh it off and move along. She has a very level head and lots of common sense.

I was not blessed with the same restraint as her. If I was within earshot and the altercation was with a woman, I'd let her handle it. If the altercation was with a man and he declined to drop the issue I'd intervene.
