Exactly why limits should be set on people in this country.  We are over populated already.

Can they care for all of these children themselves?  Without outside help?  If so, nothing wrong with it.
I imagine they cannot.

I have always wondered: if having so many children is a God will , why did  he not procreated himself?

One thing's for sure: come the time of birth, all she'll have to do is stand around until the sprog drops. At the eighteenth delivery... not much need to push.

Overpopulated? Some of your states would rattle if you shook them, they're so empty. Wyoming for example has less than half a million people in an area roughly twice the size of England (which has in the region of 50 million people). And Arkansas, where this woman is apparently from, has just 19 people for every square km.

thats changing.  the east coast - [east of the Mississippi] has grown alot in the last 30 years.  Sadly- i80 is getting more built up each time I travel it [from PA to Chicago]

the country with 300 million, is noticeable as compared to 250 million.   400 mil are expected, 
gridlock in traffic --makes things a hastle. 

property taxes too are shooting up- as this all has to be paid for and maintained.

one day, i hope to live in a tent in north Dakota  when it is too expensive here.  :-)

I ve just looked at the website of discovery channel about them, Have you seen their home?

and Don't tell me that  with all her children, she got the time to clean, and not a single thing is misplaced.

So, after looking around the website.  I noticed recipes.  I was looking through them...anyone know what
Buckeyes are?  At first I thought maybe some sort of dessert but they seem to have paraffin in them.

BUCKEYES (Michelle is originally from Ohio) Combine & mix: 1 lb. peanut butter 1 lb. powdered sugar 2 sticks melted butter (1c.) Shape into balls & cool in freezer. Combine in double boiler on low: 1/2 slab paraffin 12 oz. choc, chips Dip balls in with toothpick. Cool on waxed paper. Store in layers on waxed paper.

The kids are all home schooled. So mom has to keep the house and hold school as well as care for the littlest ones. Even with the older kids helping out does this sound like a desirable situtation for these kids?

Its things like this that make people think that everyone from Arkansas likes their women pregnant and in the kitchen. 

And if you ask people, I'm sure they'll tell you that god did procreate and we're all his children.  Having met some of his children, god needs to learn to use a rubber.

yeah i just read the article on this. being pregnant 11 years of her life so far.wondering if they understand the concept of of birth control.that can't be good for her body.guesss it goes to show some people jsut don't know when enough is enough.

Buckeyes are chocolate covered peanut butter balls. They are awesome...close to a Reeses cup.

but mom doesn't keep the house. As per the last DIscovery show on them...each older child had a younger one to care for...bathe, dress..etc. And the kids take breaks throughout the day for the funfilled thrill of tidying up. Plus they each have their assignments.
Not mentioned in the article is that Jim Bob has church services in their home every Sunday. Isn't there a large tax break involved with this?

The father is a former senator and owns a few car dealerships.  It's said on some of the specials that they receive no public aid of any type.  They are also making money off of all of those specials, you can bet.  I really like their family; they all work together to keep the family running.  Each child has a "jurisdiction", an area of the house or chores that they are responsible for.  It's great teamwork and fascinating to watch.

I had a similar skeptical frame of mind (and to a certain extent still do), so I did some quick research to see if I could confirm my suspicions in that regard.  These two tidbits rather surprised me.

The site does not mention anywhere I can see that they receive any form of public assistance, and they may very well be doing so.  However, those two factoids suggest that they may in fact be doing it all themselves.

If that is indeed the case.....wow!
