I have pain from arthritis and an unhealthy relationship with painkillers as a result. I have this gender identity thing going on which has meant no relationship for the last six and no prospect of one for the next forty years. I'm working like crazy to make a living, whilst bankers and oil markets beyond any control of mine screw it all up for me.

My reasons to be cheerful though are
- I have two good kids
- I get to live as I want (apart from the alone bit)
- I'm my own boss
- I have lady cats and baby cats
- And the sun, for once, is shining!

Now, what are you down or stressed about - and what are your reasons to be cheerful regardless?

E

I have bipolar disorder, severe anxiety and agoraphobia (with intermittent insomnia). I can't work, haven't been able to in almost four years. I've drained both my trust fund and college fund and my disability hasn't been processed yet, and it will be denied the first time as i didn't hire a lawyer for it. My medications were changed at the psych ward during my stay there, stabilizing my mood, increasing my anxiety. My doctors don't know which medications will confilct with my current anti depressants, leaving me to do the research as i've had more experience with them as all of the doctors there combined.

1. I have a supportive family
2.My best friend takes care of me
3. I have great insomniac friends who can make me laugh at 4am
4. I AM loved
5. I have outlets like this, where although it may not be r/t, i can meet new friends even though i can barely leave the house.

(figured you had 5, i'd go for that)

hello LadyE  i just posted this earlier this morning pretty much

work has me down at the moment and i'm dealing with a few stressors in my life, but they will eventually go away and i'll stop being the stress queen hopefully.  i'm alone at the moment as well and can't seem to get myself to open up to anyone right now so that is something else that i need to address if i dont' want to be the old lady that lives down the street with 40 cats that peers through the curtains and grumbles at people walking by lol.  my best friend just moved to the other side of the country so i'm feeling  kind of lonely for adult company of the girlfriend kind.

the things that make me cheerful are:

my kids, they are happy and healthy and they love me
i've got a job and health insurance.
my car is reliable and good on gas
it is spring and i'm planning my first camping trip of the season
i've got 2 adorable cats (yeah, yeah, only 38 more to go rofl)
i'm healthy

~ my miracle Kindergartner who was almost a miscarriage
~ Daddy and for everything He has done
~ for living to see another 24hrs

i know the list can go on and on however these listed above are more important to me imho

My only stress is coming from finals, but it's a minute amount of stress because I understand the material and am making all A's.

I am thankful for school and for getting to do something I was always interested in.
I am thankful for having a good mind.
I am thankful that school is only a few miles away from my house.
I am thankful for my children, who awe me every single day.
I am intensely thankful to my ex-husband for bringing over some chocolate.
It's a warm, sunny, breezy day.
I have a link to geek-fest videos on demand that deal with brain biology.

Like you, I suffer with arthritis. Mine came on during the healing process when I tore my achilles some years ago. The physio did little to help the walking process once it had healed sufficiently to walk on and now I am left with a distorted heel which gives me no respite and I am unable to take painkillers stronger than paracetamol as they leave me unable to function coherently so I 'get on with it' and try to block the pain by meditating... it doesn't work, but I still try lol

I have so many reasons to be cheerful:

My Son - The light of my life.
My wonderful submissive partner... he's the gravity pull for my spinning top. We teach other to be better people and have a hell of a great time doing it.
My babies - the cats.
A mum I adore.
A good career I have just embarked on - I would like to be my own boss, but alas, I know my limitations and I am not strict enough to achieve that.
My good friends and those I hope will become good friends.
Peep Show
Supernatural
Music.

I have bi-polar, anxiety, and o.c.d.  I have been to some of the best doctors out there and without the help and hope they gave me I wouldn't be the woman I am today.  The bipolar has made me a stronger woman and given me a new view on the world.
Here are my reasons to be cheerful.
1. my husband, with out his unending love and support I wouldn't be where I am today
2. my girlfriend, she has been by my side through thick and thin, she is my rock
4. my sailor who likes me for me and wouldn't want me anyother way
5. some of the best friends in the world
6. my health
7. I am cheerful for a healthy child who is my world and the best thing that has ever happened to me
8. the little kittens who have taken over my upstairs

I didn't think I had so much in my life to be cheerful about.  Thank you Lady Ellen for reminding me and everybody else to think about what we have to be cheerful about.

I'm pissed because someone I love despises me.

I'm cheerful.... hmm. Well, I don't have a siamese twin..... so there's that going for me..... and there is always tomorrow, and things can always change.

I'm seriously underpaid, not really getting from paycheck to paycheck. Cant find a job in the UK. I'm not pregnant. I miss Riff, and all those lovely people I met in the UK.

BUT

I have Riff in my life.  I have wonderful friends. My Mom. The Cats. I'm not pregnant. I love my job. It's a gorgeous day.

i am a bipolar, ocd, addict with ptsd, fibromyalgia, seizures, and sleep apnea and i just can't seem to get enough sleep or stop hurting at a level where any slight injury sends me into shock because my body can't process anymore pain, i am scared to start school in the summer at a university for the first time (i have only gone to community colleges before) at a place that is freaking huge, i am about to start my 4th step (searching and fearless moral inventory) and i am not getting a rat baby from the litter i thought i was...oh and i often act like a crazy bitch from psycholand who emotionally vomits on the ones who are near...

but today...
i am clean, and in recovery and making progress
my health is getting better - i don't have seizures all the time and one of my pain meds works for a few hours at night  - btw Chloe...have you tried Keppra? it is working well for me, and from what i read on the internet there have been a good number of women who have had successful pregnancies while on the Keppra
i have friends and family who love me
i have a man who loves me and puts up with my shit, no matter what, and helps me get better at dealing with it -changing it in fact
most days of the week i can get out of bed on my own
i have fur buddies all around
i have a God of my understanding, not anyone elses, in my life...

chelle
