I have been able to send and recieve message but I too not longer enjoy using  hotmail since the made changes to it..plain and simple it functions like sh!t

windchymes -> RE: hotmail sucks (5/7/2008 9:40:05 AM)

My hotmail is working fine at the moment, but I agree with not liking it since they made the changes.  But, it's typical, making "upgrades" so that you have to keep spending the money to upgrade your equipment and software so it can keep up with their upgrades that you didn't want to begin with.

For example, when I type a reply in there now, instead of just letting me start typing, it tries to bring up some portfolio or something, so I have to click "close" on that, even though I didn't want it to begin with, and when I click "close", the cursor jumps to the bottom of the email I'm replying to, so I have to scroll back up to the top to start actually typing the reply.  Then, the typing "drags", seems like it's on a delay.

I don't know why they can't just give us simple, functioning programs without all the stupid frills, bells and whistles.

~~FR!~~ I have the new version on my desktop at home, and classic on the laptop at home and desktop at work.  It works fine and always loads long as I dont put the new version on the laptop, lol.( I also need to add that I have 3 mail accounts, one business and 2 personal, and get at least a hundred emails a day so that says  something positive, plus I send out a lot of listting links with no problems).

Saffleur -> RE: hotmail sucks (5/7/2008 11:12:51 PM)

I rarely use it, preger GMail myself, but I haven't had any issues collecting mail from there.

MissMorrigan -> RE: hotmail sucks (5/7/2008 11:29:22 PM)

I've had problems accessing my hotmail for a few days now... it's frustrating seeing the 'new mail' icon on Windows Live Messenger and knowing I can't retrieve it!

Raechard -> RE: hotmail sucks (5/8/2008 2:38:08 PM)

I've noticed I get a lot of spam from people on hotmail, robots or lazy people that don't protect their PC's from spammers.

stella41b -> RE: hotmail sucks (5/8/2008 3:27:09 PM)

It might be a problem with your browser and the way it handles cookies. For example you cannot access Hotmail from text only browsers such as Lynx, and you can have difficulties when using a browser such as Safari. I recommend having at least two different browsers installed. Epiphany, Mozilla Iceweasel and Seamonkey in my experience are all reliable and can be downloaded free.

I don't have a problem with Hotmail, in fact I have more problems with Yahoo!

If you're worried about viruses, trackers, spam, spyware and such it's best not to go directly from search engines such as Google or Yahoo! to any site with adult content.

faerytattoodgirl -> RE: hotmail sucks (5/8/2008 3:37:47 PM)

nope i know its not my browser..i dont use that crap IE!!!!! or that crap netscape!!! i use the crap firefox!!

it was hotmail..because it was only like that for 24 hours.  its back to normal now.

ive never had virus ever in my 14 yrs of computing and never concerned about any other thing you mentioned because i dont use yahoo or chat programs of any kind.

Aneirin -> RE: hotmail sucks (5/8/2008 5:00:47 PM)

I have no problems with hotmail, nor gmail, I do have yahoo as well, but that one gets spammed to hell, report something as spam and it still gets through.

I am also using firefox. Did in the past use opera, that was good, perhaps better than firefox but I did not like it's demand on the cpu and I already run programs which demand much of the cpu, although dual core is a bit better.

MissMorrigan -> RE: hotmail sucks (5/8/2008 11:08:02 PM)

I finally managed to get into my account yesterday, so have a lot of emails to catch up with over the weekend. I don't have a problem with spam at all and the only occasion I have experienced it (when the filters don't catch it), as you have mentioned, is when friends have been careless and signed up to one thing or another then listing emails of friends!
