Sunao -> American Civil War (5/6/2008 3:37:03 PM)

As the days pass and go by i can't help but notice a seperation between others in regard to this country. i've recently read a post and would like to know how people feel about this? http://gatesofvienna.blogspot.com/2006/05/another-american-century-or-another.html

Is america on the verge of seperating and becoming a bunch of seperate countries in the age of the 5th Crusades? Christians and Muslims are once again at war...will old habits ever die?

batshalom -> RE: American Civil War (5/6/2008 3:38:56 PM)

If people would end their fixation with the glass tit and the 24/7 money-churning maching (aka the news media) I am nearly certain there would be far less polarization.

StormsSlave -> RE: American Civil War (5/6/2008 3:45:49 PM)

I'm not sure how this relates to "General BDSM Discussion," but ok.

I think when, not if, America falls, it could possibly fracture, but that will come from the outside, not the inside.  It will be because Americans have weakened and softened ourselves, have become a decadent society,  and have removed our own means of defending our country by allowing our politicians to take our weapons from us.  Most likely we will fall financially first, and other global powers will come in to "help."

Self-flagellation? [:D]

What a hate-filled article.  It only leaves one to wonder abut the OP that they linked it as a reference when choosing to starting a thread where it doesn't belong.

About the article?  As RP said, a bunch of hate mongering. More likely written over at StormFront than by a 'European who admires your country and wishes you well', or whatever.

About your question?  It took a lot to turn weapons on friends, family and neighbors in the 1860s, hopefully balkanization and the mindless resorting to violence over centuries old bigotry will remain in the Balkans, and won't infect us anytime soon.

Sunao -> RE: American Civil War (5/6/2008 4:41:25 PM)

lets hope your right alumbrado, but with the problems on race, gender, and overall the growing gap of rich and poor is it wrong for me to worry alittle bit? I do somewhat believe this is the 5th crusade or whatever number we are on now. Christians V Muslims.....both have the same god i really don't see why both feel the need to hate each other.

Irishknight -> RE: American Civil War (5/6/2008 4:53:52 PM)

Actually, according to the resource I recently read (wish I could remember the name) there have already been 8 crusades. If you wish to consider this a crusade, it would be number 9.

It's never wrong to worry about social stability, but to infer from a xenophobic rant such as that article that America is on the verge of fragmenting isn't worry, it's paranoia.

America has its share of problems, but civil war and dissolution are not around the corner.  There is nowhere near the level of anger and angst necessary to spur that level of political violence.

This Republic is not perfect, but for the most part it is sound (despite what you may be hearing in the continuing slugfest known as the Democratic primary).

OK ... you said it first ... so where is the hate?

Please be specific, and provide examples.

Specifically? Well, the reference cited in the 3rd paragraph is part of this charming little love fest...

http://www.splcenter.org/intel/intelreport/article.jsp?aid=93

And the conflation of all 34-35 million Hispanics in America with "...the poor, the lice-ridden and the cucarachas" and 'the illegals'?

Yeah, nothing but tolerance there...[8|]

Sorry, Alumbrado, I think a lot of you, and love most of your posts, but you got this one wrong.

The Southern Poverty Law Center article sheds no light on the article itself, other than attempting to paint anyone who questions continuing to allow the massive illegal migration unchecked as racist.  I see no direct bearing on that article, and the article written by a non-American on the issue.

The second item, the quote, is not by the author at all, but is by "the Mexican writer Elena Poniatowska [who] told the Venezuelan journal El Imparcial on July 3rd, 2001:"
The people of the poor, the lice-ridden and the cucarachas are advancing in the United States, a country that wants to speak Spanish because 33.4 million Hispanics impose their culture...Mexico is recovering the territories ceded to the United States with migratory tactics...[This phenomenon] fills me with jubilation, because the Hispanics can have a growing force between Patagonia and Alaska.
The article's author is simply quoting a Mexican national to make the point that Mexico is well aware of the massive illegal migration, and is openly stating that they are doing so for reasons of conquest.

Thank you for responding, though.

Anyone else wanna play? [:)]

Yes.

It's very important to understand the difference between an Empire and Nation

A Nation is a group of people who are genetically related.Nat means womb as in 'post-natal depression' or  'neo-natal'Nation means 'people of the same womb' or as we would say today a racial group.  Empires are multinational.  An Empire is held together by force, therefore they tend to collapse after the force is taken away.

There is a great book to read on this subject called Civil War 2I have included a link to an on-line copy of the book.http://www.timebomb2000.com/misc/CWII.pdf

Firm, you`re being to clever by half,.......again.

I could say all kinds of neutral stuff about you, your family or heritage.

But if I use the term "lice-ridden" while doing it,I don`t think you`d call that love.

It's been tried... didn't work.

All I'm hearing is whining... got anything to say on topic?
The article starts off citing one of Tantos' groups, and regurgitates the Stormfront party line...the fact that they do so 'cleverly' doesn't make them honest or tolerant.
Slick hate mongering is still hate mongering.

hmmm .... I'll give you the benefit of the doubt, on that "whining" comment.

Whether or not you think this is on-topic, it most certainly is.  Both you and Rumpus agreed that the article was "hateful" in some way, and I disagreed, and challenged you to provide examples.

You provide one example (the quote) which I dispatched.  You've not made much of a case of why you linked to the SPL article, other than some sort of vague unproven "guilt by association" theory.

I do not believe you are making much of  case, trying to connect the SPL article, and this article, other than as I said that they are generally about immigration.

What actual connection is there between the people mentioned in the SPL article and the "Gates of Venice" author?  Are they compatriots?  Belong to the same organization?  Attend the same meetings?  Have a history of long association? If you can't establish some sort of valid logical connection, other than you disagree with both of their positions, then you are trying to force me to accept a logical fallacy.

Take a chocolate cake, made with poison.  Sit it on a table beside a vanilla cake that is perfectly safe.  You are claiming that the vanilla cake is poison as well, because it's a cake too, and it's right next to the poison chocolate cake.

uh uh.  I don't buy your logic.

Anyone have a real example of "hate speech" in the article?

Well, except the author never used the term "lice-ridden".  He was quoting a MEXICAN national who used the term - one of the "intelligentsia" of Mexico, in fact - to make a point.

Can't anyone around here read?  [:)]

seeksfemslave -> RE: American Civil War (5/7/2008 2:06:08 AM)

If, as was the case in the UK US PC Liberals suppress/ignore debate about  mass immigration, note the "mass" ie ridiculously large, unstainable numbers, then I think some form of social fracture is inevitable.

How severe that fracture will be I do not know.
