I saw that earlier. That is truly sad stuff. I cannot believe that with everything that is happening, they pursued a victimless crime to this extent. Those that visit them get to dress up and deeply apologize to the blah, blah, blah.

Amazing in a land that uses ownership of ones body to justify legalized abortion, the same argument doesn't hold in regards to letting a cock in your body for some money.

Just one more example of an inconsistent philosophy held by our glorious leaders(stole that from lady Ellen, glorious leaders, hehe).

Abortion Legal. Why? Woman has rights over what happens to her body.
Prostitution Illegal. Why? Woman does not have rights over what happens to her body.

Anyway, Prostitution being illegal is even dumber than banning pot. It makes zero sense, and is in conflict with other notions used to support other legal activities, that are actually potentially more harmful than a well regulated prostitution business.

As in legal prostitutes, would not be spreading disease, they'd pay taxes, they wouldn't be on illegal drugs, they'd be protected to a greater extent while working. There is zero downside from a social and individual perspective.

Maybe, I just want it to be legal so I can be a pimp. hehe. I think it'd be fun and profitable.

I am tired of hearing about prostitution as a victimless crime!

This "pretty woman" myth and nonsense might hold sway in the fantasy world of BDSM where middle class pretend slavery runs rampant but the fact is prostitution is a vile and horrid industry enslaving millions all over the world for the hedonistic pleasure of people who could care less that it props up the rape and ruin of UM's in sex slave operations as well as destroying the souls of men and women who partake. And if anyone thinks the so called "high end" prostitution does not contribute to a single digit year old UM being used and abused for sexual purposes, you are beyond naive. The world is a better place because the "DC Madame" decided to leave it. May there be mercy for her soul.

Wow, you know why you make some things legal even if you don't like them? It's because, it brings most of the activity out of the shadows and into the light, to where it can be more easily monitored. So, therefore, if your concern regarding prostitution is slavery, and Unmentionables being involved, the obvious solution in regards to reducing that problem is to legalize adult prostitution. As then it makes it more difficult for such things to happen.

24 hour video surveillance in the brothel, ID required, medical tests on all prostitutes, age verification, security, Accounting of profits and where they came from, taxes being filtered into the real economy. If a prostitute wanted to leave a legal brothel, they wouldn't have to worry about retribution.

Don't you think if it was legal, and with all that implies(monitoring, tests, security), that the most vile aspects of prostitution would be lessened. I'd think so.

Yeah... It's not like 100's of thousands of adult women aren't being used as sexual slaves "rolls eyes".

But I get it....

Cameras and Government montering will stop a an 18 year old Burmese woman from being used as a sex slave for tourists... OK... You win.

It saddened me to read she off'ed herself.
I spoke with her once years back and she appeared to be a class act even if in a buisness that was not approved of.
Personally I feel horrible for her Mother finding her body after the fact. I can only imagine her pain.

You may think so, but how do you explain that in countries where prostitution is either legal or out in the open, forced sexual slavery and trafficking is prevalent?

You would have an excellent argument if you could focus. Comparing Burma to the states is a totally different ball game. We like to call that trafficking. Frankly, if you have to look that far away, your not paying attention. It happens every day here, sometimes with parents banking off of it. Sometimes um's get caught up in it, because its not like you gave a damn to begin with. And sometimes, the mother is trying to provide because I have news...........there is no morality in $7.00 an hour. When your ready to talk to me about "why" its a viable option and how to realistically combat that, I'm ready to listen.
Be that as it may, these are adults. These are major players. Its not like they don't know.
So let me tell you where the whoredom lies.
The whoredome lies in the wifes that "stand by their man". That is fucking prostitution. Different slant on marraige and all, but there you have it.

It's not a valid comparison, since the only way it would do what I proposed is if it was regulated, and monitored. Also I'm no expert on the Czech Republic, but I believed it's an economicly depressed area(could be wrong), whereas my proposal was US centric. I'm sure different countries will have different problems in this regard, as economic factors vary, culture varies, government corruption varies, etc... I still think it makes sense in the US under a regulated, and monitored system.
