With everything costing more I find that I am not purchasing any new fetish toys.  I'm looking into more home made devices for play.

Also I live in Rockford Illinios and use to travel into Chicago to serve.  Now I find that making a round trip of close to 200 miles is costing a hell of alot more than it use to.  So I do not travel as much and will not be joining any dungeons in Chicago  for awhile.

This is how it has affected my fetish lifestyle, how about you?

It has dropped our attendance at a dungeon that is about 100 miles away. very unfortunate, it is a great playspace.

We no longer ask them to visit we just suggest the move in and get a job.

Everything becomes more affordable when the only distance between you and your sub is 20 feet.

The cost of plane tickets is endangering my willingness to vend at DomCon and the Flea, and that absolutely sucks - for professional and social reasons.

For that matter, the cost of precious metals is driving up the cost of just making the jewelry in the first place. I make pieces that women can wear instead of their collars, when a collar isn't necessarily appropriate, and metal-plated materials just don't hold up if you wear them all the time.

Made me put a two hour drive cap on how far I would be willing to go to meet someone- I don't mind driving, especially now it's so beautiful out, and theres always that fun, wonder what will happen this time thought going through your mind the whole time.

Doing that means sacrificing something else though, generally no buying books or going to the movies and dinner, but at the same time, I get a whole other form of entertainment for my money ^^


Also I have to actually save to buy nice lingerie and fetish clothes, and am generally opting for things that are of cheaper materials, and not so much the leather. :(

I was going to attend  alot more than  just one out of state event this year now it looks like i may just be attending THUNDER and that is all .I have a small fetish bdsm type biz and i too have seen sales drop .event sales are way down .I wish i could attend More events , many places have closed  already .It used to be the economy did not effect kinky and tools and vacation fetish get a ways  when you found that treasured item you just got it and quick cuz there was only two left .Or this is going to be the best event of the next 6 months a must attend and now i hear many say i do not have the money . Spend that new bush money on KINK /Fetish BDSM  stimulus and stimulate yourself and maybe others too .

This is why I am taking me sweet time setting up the fetish making biz, and have absolutely NO intentions of giving up my day job. I expect that quite a bit of the current leather competiton that is trying to be full time is going to  fade away in the next year of so. I saw this coming about 8 months ago.

It will be interesting to see how things shake down.

Leatherist > i started selling  lil stuff many years ago , then went mobile  and sold items at events and  stuff  for close to 5 years now .I know one thing quality  will never go under as long as demand is there . I am still stocking items and if they do not sell  next time they shall sometime when  that certain person is seeking it .
I was going to open a brick and motor type  store  by myself , not anymore .. right now on this crazy coaster ride  its just a lull , and i have seen this before  it shall pick up .

Most of the stuff I see online is of very marginal construction to keep it cheap. (Like the cuffs I saw on a major site that were being touted for thier "unique packaging"...it's gotta be pretty pathetic when the BOX is more attractive than what is in it!!!! [:D]) But that's not the market Intend to serve,and yes, it will pick up again.
