I called 9-1-1 and described how I was feeling. They took me to the psyche ward of the local hospital. The doctor said I was bipolar, but it wasn't true. I was just having a little trouble decompressing from years of bullying and abuse at my desk job, which I had just been let go from. They gave me Seroquel, Lithium, and a shot of Clopixol. All these things gave me a terrible case of "I Can't Stand-Its". That's when no matter what you are doing, you can't tolerate it or tolerate yourself for that matter. I told them that I wasn't Bi-Polar, just a little odd and a little stressed out. They wouldn't believe me. I called a friend and arranged for him to meet me in secret during one of my smoke breaks outside the unit. I don't smoke. We hightailed it out of there in a plume of tire-smoke!!! Then we went to my sister's house and had Passover with their family, which was nice since they weren't expecting us and didn't ask any questions. Then we went home and just partied till dawn, when the police suddenly showed up at the door looking for me. I got dressed and went without a fight. Straight back to the psyche unit and angry/puzzled/frazzled staff there. Next morning I retained a Patients Advocate Office lawyer who apparently works for free. She forced the psychiatrist to release me that very day, and boy was he mad! His teeth were clenched and that little knot in his jaw was throbbing as he gritted. Now I'm home, jobless (yay, they gave me 2 months severence!), and happy as can be. Unfortunately, the shot of Clopixol they gave me is slow-release with a half-life of 7 to 14 days. I still feel like shit with these Can't-Stand-Its! There was absolutely no point to the above story. I just felt like telling y'all.
