DesFIP -> Sub drop (4/23/2008 5:40:49 AM)

Had a bout of this yesterday. We had plotted to do all the running around in the morning and then have the afternoon available for play and a nap afterwards. Instead in the middle of play his phone rings, it's the shop telling him to pick up his van. So we immediately leap up and drive down there and then I had to follow him home.

No nap, forgot to bring a water bottle and driving.

We get back with his van and start doing really tiring physical work so he can repack the van ready for today's job. By the time bedtime came I was weeping and angry, a really charming mixture.

Thank God I remembered I had hidden some dark chocolate in the spice cabinet. I ate it myself, not sharing and felt a little better. Then fell fast asleep while he was holding me.

I know better than to do this. But this was our only available playtime in over a month. It's his busy season. I haven't dealt with this in a couple of years and would be perfectly happy if it never happens again.

Shame on you . Shit happend and you fell apart. The wrost part is not sharing the chocolate. I hope that you get flamed for that.

It helps to prepare a non-perishable food kit with high energy items, for emergencies such as this.

Sounds like you were crashing on low sugar.

IMHO, it was pretty damn rude to answer the phone in the middle of designated time together.  Sure shit happens, however, most shit can be managed if one wants to.

DiurnalVampire -> RE: Sub drop (4/23/2008 7:31:36 AM)

Unfortunately, when things like that happen, its not always avoidable. I have had Angel get calls from work to go fix a down server and things like that mid-scene. So, in his panties and all he pulls his jeans on and heads out. When he comes back, the mood is usually ruined. Real life can ruin plans, and letting the frusteration show isnt always a bad thing. I am sure he was also frusterated, just handling it better.
*hugs* from a been there done that compatriot.

At least it wasn't another submissive (the younger one, or the rich one, or the one who is definitely straight and not even bi-curious).
Even chocolate is no kind of fix for that kind of sub-drop.
If I could reach you I would and give you a real hug.

DesFIP -> RE: Sub drop (4/23/2008 10:48:51 AM)

Unfortunately we were waiting around for the shop to call. It was important. And I knew this was a possibility. Unfortunately our window of opportunity got slammed shut in the middle.

I guess that's life with children, no time for nothing.

OmegaG -> RE: Sub drop (4/23/2008 10:52:41 AM)

actually, I wish sometimes that I could purge emotion rather then remaining the stoic individual my father helped create.

The weepy angry behaviour is annoying when you are in the midst of it, but sometimes it's cathartic.  And I've had life interfere with far to much of my time with m'Lord lately for my taste, but I rationalize it and move on which is probably not healthy either as I swallow my dissapointment and hide it.

Indeed sub drop is a *bitch*.  Good on you for having chocolate near by.  When you drop you drop, "suck it up as they say" because you also know that when you fly you fly, and so therefore there will always be a balance.

It was nice that you were able to sleep with your One nearby.

Take care of yourself over the next couple of days and spoil yourself rotten.  Don't forget to buy some more chocolate and put it away as a "safety net".  Maybe the unexpected reaction might be cycle related as well.  A double banger as they say.

Take care,

Alls well that ends well in these cases- the good part about drop is that no one ever dies from it.

The thing is when one drops one forgets that one ever flew.

That depends upon what falls out of the sky.....I had one of those sea-side picture postcards flash into my head then. The sort of Carry On film type of a slave landing on my head......like pigeon shit it's always on me not on the next guy.

Tigrita -> RE: Sub drop (4/23/2008 5:04:08 PM)

Big huggs, I know how that feels.  Several times I've gotten caught up in spontaneous play that got more intense than we might have anticipated, and we've had obligations shortly following.  This happened the other day, he had to run off to a meeting after some play that got very intense.  I was already feeling lousy that he had to go when I needed to cuddle. I fell asleep but got sharply awakened by the phone which sent my head spinning, but I tried to get some more rest.  I was still dozing when he got home, and he made an innocent joke about things I hadn't gotten done that day and here I am sleeping... it put me in tears when I normally would have laughed or just done what needed to be done.  It was like I was drugged and just felt so worthless and useless and couldn't see the light.  We spent all evening bringing me out of it, not fun for either of us.  Got to be careful when to play and how intense it gets if you'll need aftercare.  It is so easy get caught up in things and then get left in a bad place.

kallisto -> RE: Sub drop (4/23/2008 7:48:44 PM)

Real life does kick us in the ass sometimes.   Ok .. well me it does.  [:)]  To the OP, so sorry your plans didn't work out.

HerLord -> RE: Sub drop (4/23/2008 8:05:00 PM)

Chocolate is life's answer for all things problematic. Buy stock in Hershey. We do everyday. one Hershey bar at a time. LOL

mystiquenz -> RE: Sub drop (4/24/2008 1:58:45 AM)

Prinsexx

I think you  never forget how to fly, it is a bit like riding a bike, you fall off, you get back on and you peddle.  lol ... Maybe as we progress the outstanding, memorable memories become few and far between unless you have the right One!
