the telocoms are cramming too much programming - thus "compressing" it- there by cancelling out much of the clarity that HD subscribers are paying for.

I see this in online video too. it is getting to the point of me wanting to only look at pics, that video is a soundtrack to pictures, often the incorrect soundtrack. add to that -commercials louder then regular programing. ....

If HDTV worked and was all wonderful, they would not have to mandate it.

It doesn't matter to me. I'm getting close to the day when I pull the TV plug permanently and cancel my cable. It isn't worth my time and money any longer.
