I'm not a big fan of drastic measures. You can go for example on drastic weight loss programs, but if the lifestyle and habits are not changed as soon as you stop it you start going back. And besides it can have undesired consequences if it is not moderated. The same goes for this detox things... you can't expect some miraculous results with things like that if the rest of the time you eat junk food, drink alcohol and so on. The most important thing is to organize our lives properly, to have a natural rhythm, to sleep enough and at the right time, to eat healthy food and to exercise. There are no shortcuts. I do fast twice a month either completely (no food or water) or on water or on juices. Tried longer fasts too but don't really like them, while I feel really good on short ones. However it does not make that much of a difference on the general wellbeing which depends more on the other 28 days in the month. It is a supplement to the generally well planed (or not) life and not some miraculous remedy. I’m also not a believer in general methods, the miraculous programs for one and for all. We are all different and the same thing does not always have the same effect. I can go without food or water for long periods while there are people who feel week if they don’t eat for just half a day. Depends on both the constitution and lifestyle habits. Someone that misuses his body will probably have more difficulties on drastic regimes than a moderate and well planed vegetarian that exercises regularly, goes to sleep at 21.00 etc. What is no big deal for someone can be a great shock for another one’s body.
