And yeah --- Advice to "get good at the basics" -- Well what do you consider the basics??? ...... because some of the things listed that you just said you wouldn't like, some people might consider the basics, ya know? I think that is part of what he was trying to find out and seemed very sincere. Advice to "Find out from your domme if there is something specific she'd like" -- Unm, I think if he HAD a Domme to ask, he would not be on here asking what would be good to learn TO FIND a Domme easier...... Just saying. Kinda Pointless "advice" all over really...... I think anyone can gether that different people will have different needs and Duh, If he had a Domme to be asking what she wanted, it seems apparent he already would be and DUH, every sub without a Domme would LOVE for one to appear for them to be able to ask!!! LOL --- You can't dismiss that there are some general things many people would like... At least he realised that some things might be more attractive than others and is willing to work on things. Things aren't working for him, he wants to serve and in the meantime have a goal to work on till her finds someone that will later benefit them, is that so bad? Telling him to ask his Domme when the original post made it clear that he was doing this to Find a domme, is about the dumbest thing I have read yet.

I always find it interesting to see when someone gets riled up over nothing. I was genuinely trying to be helpful. Your diatribe, however, added nothing to the discussion, so if my post wasn't helpful, yours was even less so. I can offer him one suggestion: learn proper grammar, punctuation, spelling, and syntax, so that if he finds himself with a domme who sounds like she is nearly illiterate, he'll be able to help.

Personally, I'd go with a Tailoring/Enchanting combination. With all the cloth drops you get, especially in Outlands, Tailoring is cake to level. Enchanting can be a bitch, but if you disenchant all the greens/blues you make to level up Tailoring, you'll have a lot easier time with it. And you'll save a ton of gold by being able to enchant your own shit. Oh, and if you're a shadow priest or warlock, make SURE you get your Frozen Shadoweave attunement at 350 Tailoring skill, that shit is better than T4. [sm=duck.gif] Seriously though, echoing what's been said previously -- it depends on what is valuable to your Domme. For the most part I'd say your best course of action is to flat-out ask what she considers to be the most valuable skill for a sub to have, but you can also use a bit of inference to figure it out on your own. If you know she regularly comes home from work in a tizzy and freaking out about having to make dinner, learning to cook for her may be a good move. Or if she complains that her back hurts or her feet hurt on a regular basis, learn the art of massage.

All good skills - I might have to add a few to my list. I recently added cute ways to fold dinner napkins. As for the anal penetration and cooking - ha! I bet my boy could do both at the same time - ooo what about a fig up his ass and a nice champaign for me. I might just have to start him on some sewing skills after all this conversation.

~~FR~~ As others have already stated, cooking, and cooking well, is a biggie. Not gourmet, but can you pan grill a nice chicken breast without minute instruction, make some rice and steam a veggie? Can you set a nice table? Attention to details regarding the household chores is also nice. It takes practice. Dusting the bookcases or not dusting them is noticed! Learn how to do laundry. In other words, read tags and follow instructions. Listen carefully to the Domina, but it helps if you already have a good feel for various fabrics and understand about water temps, types of detergents, soaps, when to use bleach, when not to use bleach etc. Ironing! Does anyone know how to iron? I try not to have too many things that need it, but there are occasions. And learn how to fold clothing nicely. That included linens, such as towels, sheets, tablecloths, etc. I am amazed at the number of boys who do not know how to fold anything. Be open. If someone knows how to do the department store fold on a shirt, I am not opposed. But if you don't, at least be able to fold something nicely, and be able to adjust to folding according to her instructions. Practice mutli-tasking. I find that most boys do not know how to do this. *This does not mean* that I expect you to be able to stir the pot while loading the dishwasher and use your foot to mop the floor with the wet towel. *It does mean*: You can have laundry going in the washer and dryer, and while those cycles are going, you can remember to take out the meat to defrost for dinner, and get the bathroom cleaned. It's really not that hard...It's just good time management and being efficient. Reflexology...aromatherapy, a familiarity with some things natural. Also some basic computer smarts and a good working knowledge of basic auto maintenance needs. There are lots of things you can bring to the table. You might mention you have good knowledge as well as flexibility in certain areas, and those could be the things (even without thinking of them herself!) that tips the Domina in your favor! Most importantly, always listen to and respect the wishes of the Domina. It is supposed to be her household and her way. I have a dishwasher, but there are certain things I need to have handwashed, such as My Cutco knives, My fine china and My crystal. Much of that is not used very often (except the knives, of course!), but...Goddess help you if I find they've been thrown into the dishwasher. Does that help?
