Personally, i'd ADDICTED to L & O: SVU!
Love it, love it, love it!
i tried L & O: CI for a bit, but didn't like the 2 main characters/or their "chemistry" :((  He tried to be like "Columbo" too much.

LikaLady -> RE: Favorite Law & Order series (4/18/2008 8:35:23 AM)

I love SVU and criminal intent...can't decide between the two!

GreedyTop -> RE: Favorite Law & Order series (4/18/2008 8:36:47 AM)

you mean Vincent D'Onofrio (Goren)??  I LOVED him!

I checked all three.... I love those shows.. now that West Wing is gone *sob* L&O in all it's incarnations make up most of my TV viewing.

MadameMarque -> RE: Favorite Law & Order series (4/18/2008 8:47:55 AM)

Oh, I'm a big Criminal Intent fan.  You know, when I first saw a bit of it, I thought the two main partners were very much like a Holmes/Watson pair; then I saw later that the shows creators did intend this.

I think the writing and acting are strong.  The strongest, to me, has been the two recurring story lines, - the one about the female serial killer and the episodes about Bobby Goren's family.

I know that Vincent D'Onofrio's quirkiness in that role strikes some people as too affected.  Works for me, though.  That character probably would be a bit eccentric, in real life.  Very engaging, poignant, he's really fleshed out the character.

exactly, MM.  I love his encyclopic knowledge of stuff.. and the way he kinda does that sorta hesitating speaking as he pulls out the bombshells... *grin*   and I love Eames :) the way she smirks as he drops the shells....

the running story lines you mentioned are great...  that blond chick is a perfect match for Bobby's skills

But Chris Meloni is HOT!!!!  His chemistry w/Mariska Hargitay (Jayne Mansfield's daughter) is even HOTTER!  Understandable, the story lines are extremely upsetting when they involve kids, but the entire crew is just so good together! Damn, how can i get a guest appearance?

Now you're just having me on... :P

Thanks, though!

I really enjoy the opportunity to share fandom over something good, so your polls are a lot of fun.

oh yeah.. I'd so do ANY of them!!!  Chris, Mariska, Vincent and Katherine!!

oh hell, just lemme have them all in a pile... *grin*

and yes, the SVU chemistry is awesome.  Ice T rocks too.. and Munch.. there is something about his conspiracy theory stuff that just grabs me..LOL

Now this...this really has my imagination blowing a gasket.
Whether I imagine the characters doing this, or the actors, I...it just wouldn't...you can't...excuse me, I just got a picture of Chris Meloni giving Vincent D'Onofrio a big kiss on the mouth, and...I have to go, now

...but I will say this, - you forgot to invite Tony Goldwin (Goren's brother).  Under that street person disguise for his character, he's fine.

....maybe if Katherine Erbe and Marissa Hargitay just watched and made the boys perform for them?  No,...

And the Goren character could totally be perverted, privately.  But I can't figure him for a group scene.  Wondering if Vincent D'Onofrio is kinky...

yes, got to go

GreedyTop -> RE: Favorite Law & Order series (4/18/2008 12:53:02 PM)

They don't have to do each other... just ME!  LOL

KatyLied -> RE: Favorite Law & Order series (4/18/2008 1:05:34 PM)

CI because I think D'Onofrio is wonderful. And I've always liked what they do with Goren's story lines.  My favorite was when he was sparring with Nicole Wallace (Olvia d'Abo).

GreedyTop -> RE: Favorite Law & Order series (4/18/2008 2:31:46 PM)

NICOLE!! Yes!! I couldnt remember her name!

windchymes -> RE: Favorite Law & Order series (4/18/2008 3:03:52 PM)

I like SVU, but also loved the old Jerry Orbach/Chris Noth days.  RIP, Jerry.

Also, funny you should mention Mariska being Jayne's daughter.  I only found that out recently and was really surprised.  Mariska was only about 3 and was in the car, sleeping in the back seat, when they had that horrible crash that killed her mother.

angelikaJ -> RE: Favorite Law & Order series (4/18/2008 3:08:52 PM)

With the original L&O...you have the wonderful ensembles which have changed on both sides through the years...I loved Jerry Orbach.

"...Detective Munch, a cynical guy who loves conspiracy theories, has appeared in more than 300 individual episodes of eight different television programs. ..."

I think Bobby and Eames are a great pair!  And the running story lines are great too.
Not to derail the thread but how about Criminal Minds?? I love that show!

Nothing like the original, though I love all of them!

Both SVU and CI here.  Great casts, great chemistry, strong story lines.  Good stuff.

yes and i often watch old episodes of OZ to get my fill of Chris Meloni when there is no SVU on...

my mom and i have this theory that the last episode(s) -series finale- ever of CI will be of Goren going off his rocker and becoming a serial killer and them having to find him...he gets so deep into the suspects' minds it's creapy...

and i like others couldn't decide if i liked SVU or CI better...but i still watch the original...speaking of, i heard on a commercial that next wednesday's episode will be Jessi Martin/Detective Ed Green's last ever episode...i am recording it, he is one of my favorite characters...

i love the whole cast on SVU...especially Fin and Munch together...there was one episode where they had to go undercover at some gangster's place and the guys asked Fin who Munch was and Fin was like "that's my Jew"...and Munch didn't say anything till they got out...and he was like "what if i were to call you my boy" and Fin said back, "then i'll be your boy"....it was hillarious...

but i still like Goren for being able to get in to the minds of criminals...

speaking of which...someone said Criminal Minds...
