okay...what is up with these things??? i have seen these change quite alot in the past few years. first when your taking money out...you would get the money first and then your card would pop back out after you accept charges. now..the card comes out first and then your money... okay...what if your card comes out....but the money doesnt????? what happens then??? its out of your account but you have no physical cash in your hands. how do you prove to the bank that you didnt get any cash? also on some machines....cash gets stuck inside...and builds up. i know this because i took out money a couples times and felt some stuck...and i managed to get much more $ out than the amount i actually punched in. dont people do anything when something happens like that? what do they do...sit there...look around...saying omg where the fuck is my money... arent they smart enough to feel if the money is there? yes this was kinda a rant...but not really... where will atm's go in the future?

faery. i work for a bank, and most of the time, we can tell when looking at a customer's account whether or not there has been an ATM error. plus, we balance the ATM, so we can tell if it has screwed up in some way. most often, if you call or go into the bank, they will correct the mistake for you. at least, we will. i don't know about other bank's policies.

Don't use the machine you don't like to use. Simple as that. We have a machine in a bank here in town that literally throws the money out at you. One twenty at a time...throws it so hard if its a windy day it will actually fly away. It has about a 6 inch deep reservoir it throws it into. It senses when you take the money out...if one bill is left inside the machine beeps at you until "it" thinks all of the money is out.
