Level -> Obama told the truth? (4/13/2008 11:12:30 AM)

quote:

You know, I just spent seven and a half years disagreeing with the administration that has given us an unprecedented military and economic mess. I saw it coming, it came, and in some ways it was worse, and promises to get worse, than I foresaw. I the course of these seven years, I have had my patriotism questioned and demeaned fairly often. I was even put in a book, as one of a hundred people who were hurting America. When I got into this book, my relatives worried that I would get shot by some rightwing nut, even though several of them were and are rightwing nuts themselves (and they carry guns). All this time, though, I considered myself a patriot and a loyal American because I was able to see the destruction that was being wreaked upon the nation, and in particular, upon the middle and working classes, by the Republican liars and war criminals and job outsourcers and health care destroyers and army wreckers and infrastructure ignorers and media whores and agriculture blackmailers (see this month's Vanity Fair).

So now, Barack Obama tells the truth about conditions as we know them--that the countryside and the small towns are dying in many places in our country, and that the corporatocracy doesn't care enough to do a thing about it. He points out that immigrant-baiting, gay-baiting, gun-baiting, and religious pandering have helped to destroy those towns and that countryside, that those being destroyed have been cynically enlisted by their very own destroyers to provide the votes that help accomplish the destruction. And this is what Senator Hillary Clinton says about it: "Senator Obama's remarks were elitist and out of touch. They are not reflective of the values and beliefs of Americans."

level, i dont know about others, but obamas comments made me think more of him, not less....course i might be one of them pityful rednecks he was referring to-lol.

i dont know if he is ready to be prez now, he may need 4 more years to learn, but i havent written him off yet.

hillary has been written off by me since day 1 though.

Level -> RE: Obama told the truth? (4/13/2008 11:26:50 AM)

There is no doubt that there are people like he was talking about; hell, I know a few of them. But for to not realize how that kind of talk would be recieved, is mind-boggling.

popeye1250 -> RE: Obama told the truth? (4/13/2008 11:27:12 AM)

What is he talking about with all this "Immigrant-Baiting, Bashing?"
I don't see any evidence of that at all.
It's always been my experience that Americans like immigrants and are interested in them and their culture.

Level -> RE: Obama told the truth? (4/13/2008 11:30:09 AM)

Well, except for the ones that think every Hispanic swam over here.

DomKen -> RE: Obama told the truth? (4/13/2008 11:30:45 AM)

He told the uncomfortable truth and as usual those who don't want the masses thinking about it try to spin it.

Oh, and someone show this thread to Owner, so he can add Ms Smiley to the list of sharp-tongued devils from the Left. [:D]

popeye1250 -> RE: Obama told the truth? (4/13/2008 11:48:30 AM)

Level, reading the above would tell me that Abba Dabba doesn't know shit about small towns.
I mean the guy's from Chicago for God's sake!
And I'm still waiting for the "exciting" part.
Watching this clown speak is like watching paint dry.
Between him and Hillary I'd pick Hillary.
She (is) talking about people losing jobs to this "free-trade" crap.
And, she'd be MUCH more *interesting* to have in the WH too.
She'd be overseas on a summit and Bill would get caught in a whore house somewhere then, she'd be throwing ashtrays at him![:D]
All kinds of hijinx! It'd be very entertaining.

SeeksOnlyOne -> RE: Obama told the truth? (4/13/2008 11:51:17 AM)

if there was film of her throwing ashtrays at him after the monica thing, i might just vote for her

LOL, Seeks, me too!
Plus, she does have more experience than Abba Dabba.
I think it'd be cool to have a female president in the WH for the very first time.
She'd definately make history, or,..."herstory."
Plus, she has a better national healthcare plan and experience in that area again.

Level -> RE: Obama told the truth? (4/13/2008 11:59:36 AM)

We can't rule out her throwing all sorts of shit at Bill after that mess.

Popeye, she does have more experience, but not that much, IMO.

awmslave -> RE: Obama told the truth? (4/13/2008 12:01:46 PM)

Being ironic, Obama should learn from Billary: tell people what they want to hear. The last seems to be central in her campaign.

Sanity -> RE: Obama told the truth? (4/13/2008 12:07:30 PM)

Its so strange the way so many Democrats can live in such denial. They're nominating another 1st class loser, and so very few on the left can see it.

Just like with Kerry. But in Kerry's case, anyone who objected to their 'precious' (shiny shiny) nominee was accused of hating decorated war veterans.

Anyone who sees Obama's defects is called racist...

And anyone who argues against Hillary is calledd 'sexist'

Reality is strictly forbidden, get back in line and drink your Kool-Aid!!!

mnottertail -> RE: Obama told the truth? (4/13/2008 12:15:44 PM)

According to republican sources, they have not as yet fielded a candidate in this campaign, and haven't actually fielded a candidate since Reagan's second term.

Ow! Ya got me there, Ron. [sm=blasted.gif] Because you're right. Republicans have been doing no better.

Level.. who  do you think WAS running the White House that gave Bill so much time to have his dalliance? :)

As far as her overt lack of an emotional outburst about his fling.. that's a woman in control of her emotions.

you call it in control of her emotions, and i guess thats true.

i call it willing to look like a fool to hang on to the political star she attached her self to.

were probably both right

Level -> RE: Obama told the truth? (4/13/2008 1:08:26 PM)

Again, we don't know what Hillary did behind closed doors; she may or may not have "controlled" her emotions. I can see her calling him every name in the book while screaming and crying, and I can see her much more calmly asking him how he could be such a fuck-up.

As for controlling the White House, I hardly think that occurred.

SeeksOnlyOne -> RE: Obama told the truth? (4/13/2008 1:24:17 PM)

true level.....

im gonna imagine she, at least ONCE, kicked him in the balls and asked "how could you be so dumb you stoopid mutha fucker?!?!?!"

[:D]

Level -> RE: Obama told the truth? (4/13/2008 1:27:49 PM)

He deserved at least one kick [:D]
