Jen06 -> pain (4/11/2008 8:38:59 PM)

a little issue.

within the past week i have devolped extreme pain down below everytime i wipe. it is very sensitive and seems to be a bit puffy. the only thing that has changed in the sex life like is he is now using a heating gel.  what should i do?

CalifChick -> RE: pain (4/11/2008 8:42:04 PM)

Stop using the heating gel. You may be having a reaction to it.  Cool baths, wipe with witch hazel (you can buy a brand name like tucks wipes or you can buy witch hazel in a bottle and use a cotton ball or other applicator), and take an antihistamine (like benadryl).  See your doctor if it doesn't start to show signs of improving after about a day, or if it gets worse after discontinuing the heating gel.

go to a doctor; it could be anything from a yeast infection to an allergic reaction to a urinary tract infection to an std.

DesFIP -> RE: pain (4/11/2008 8:43:14 PM)

Stop the heating gel and see if that solves the problem. Sounds like you're allergic to something in it.

This assumes you haven't just changed your laundry detergent or soap or anything.

If eliminating the gel doesn't help, then go see your doctor.

LostMyself -> RE: pain (4/11/2008 11:52:00 PM)

had a really bad reaction to an irritant once.. could barely walk at all.. it was AWFUL!  try benadryl cream..

MissLily -> RE: pain (4/12/2008 2:12:22 PM)

I'm with everybody here. Might be an alergy. Stop using it, keep your peepee clean and put some benadril cream.

good luck,
Miss Lily

Its a reaction sweetie, I am hoping the heating gel he used is one for genital areas, otherwise you could be in serious trouble--could aslo be damn raw--- get to am urgent care and have it looked at, you could also have developed a urinary track infection as well...

CalifChick -> RE: pain (4/12/2008 3:15:22 PM)

So is it any better today?  By the way, don't take an oral antihistamine (benadryl tablets/pills) if you are also going to use an antihistamine cream (benadryl cream). You will get too high of a dose of antihistamine that way. It's easier to regulate the amount of antihistamine in your system if you stick with the oral variety.  You can use the witch hazel wipes whenever it hurts, as often as necessary.

MontrealPhoenix -> RE: pain (4/12/2008 8:05:22 PM)

  Seems to be pretty common sense that the heating gel would be the problem. The gel might also have caused a yeast infection or a uti. However, going to see the lady-doctor is never a bad idea. Good luck.

Well the benadryl might have been helping and you didn't know it - there is a possibility that it could have been MUCH worse without the benadryl in your system.

I'm glad it seems like you're on the road to recovery.  Remember if at any time you have any trouble breathing, cannot catch your breath, feel like your tongue is swelling, or you have sudden vision change, get medical help immediately as the situation is an emergency.  Don't be embarrassed to call 911 if any of those things happens; they can get there faster and get you medical help sooner than if you drive yourself to a doctor.  I should have told you this stuff yesterday, I'm sorry I didn't think about it then.

chamberqueen -> RE: pain (4/13/2008 1:58:12 PM)

See a doctor!  (I haven't read the other posts so you may have already been told that dozens of times.)

There are two very small glands near your urethra.  I once had one of them blocked.  I would put off urinating as long as possible because it hurt so much, and wiping was true agony.  I had to go on medication to take care of the problem.  It had nothing to do with being dirty or any STD - it was simply a blockage of a gland I didn't even know was there.
