A new poll shows that a hypothetical matchup between a ticket with John McCain and Condi Rice would easily defeat a Obama/Hillary ticket.

The poll shows McCain/Rice would even beat the Democrats in New York by a 49-44% margin.... Normally a poll like this coming out this early does not mean much....except that New York is among the bluest states of the country. It shows potentially how strong of a candidate McCain could be this November. And that perhaps many Democrats are underestimating him.

Not really... Although I dont like any of these candidates, I'd take McCain over Obama anyday.

I see Obama as the man to help bring the country together but see McCain as better in global circles. I think this country needs someone to help bring it together but I do not know how well that works. After 9/11, I saw many cars that had american flags, pro america stickers all over the place, then the guy would pull out in front of someone, he was very pro america but not pro american. I don't think the running mates will make a big difference. I did not like Chaney but voted for him, the first time anyways.

At least with McCain, you know what you are going to get. This Obama person hasnt even spent a full term in the Senate yet. And the people around him makes me very nervous about what his true intentions are....  These ministers, spiritual advisors, and pastors of his are all racists and black nationalists. And he refuses to distance himself from those people. His campaign is nothing but words.

If you've made up your mind already, are you trying to convince us, or yourself, that you've made the right decision? Or are these threads of yours shameless attempts at proselitysing rofl?

If that poll turns out to be true, I am leaving this shithole country and wiping the dust of it from my shoes.

I've had just about as much puritan, right-wing idiocy as I can stand. And ignorant Americans deserve exactly the government that is fucking them collectively in the ass.

So these are British smileys then? It says: "Sod off."

While Secretary Rice would be far from my first choice for a running mate, I respect her intellect and I think she would grow into the postion.  That ticket definitely gets my vote.

Now, all Fries McCain has to do is convince Rice that she should join his team :-) .

Well, part of the equation here is Clinton. And she is no friend to any real progressive.

The funny thing about liberals is that we don't actually like our own candidates much better than those of the opposition. In fact, I don't normally consider Dems my candidates per se - but what else is there realistically?

I am completely disenfranchised, but at least the Dems speak some of my language. A very small part of it anyway...

At least liberals have liberal choices, heh.  A lot of conservatives would claim they didn't have a true choice on the Republican side.

There is no choice... It's rigged. It's always been rigged. And Emma Goldman told everyone about it a century ago -- Voting, she wrote, provided an illusion of participation while masking the true structures of decision-making.

Let me expand on that briefly by saying that "Voting" ( and really, even buying into the MEDIA PRODUCED BULLSHIT ) is what you let the slaves do, so they can pretend they have a voice in the affairs of State, and won't overthrow the government. But that never changes that it's as fake as pro wrestling.
