ABC will air a special episode of "PrimeTime" tomorrow night, about dying professor Randy Pausch.

I agree; he's going through a horrific experience, with such grace, and good humor.

When you're going to go, I can't think of a better way than to go out in style. I've seen more healthy people with much less optimisim on life than this guy. What gives?

I guess its genes. He had a bad one, as far as the cancer goes, but he struck it rich in other ways.

I liked what he said about how his family will soon be tossed off a cliff (when he dies) and he can either roll up in a ball or cry or get busy working on their safety nets, so he decided to get busy building the nets.  They seem like a family who has it together.  It's a sad, yet uplifting story.

Absolutely, Katy. He's making the most of his time, and has a good heart.

I could see myself being happy if told I only had a few months left to live. I could forget about debts and loans.

You sure can, your remaining family inherits your debts when you die, in the US.

Life Insurance will cover all that and still leave my family well off.

-- childlike dreams.  when I was a kid I always was building a treehouse, exploring the woods, gardening.

but seems -- many dont have specific dreams.

that type of cancer is fatal.   i know someone who went fast.

one ponders is it better to know WHEN you will die?   a dog has no idea that it will ever die.

so if you were a kid- what would you be doing on a summer day?

Licking ice cream down to the last drop on the inside of a cone.

On a side note, dogs do know when death is near. I've had more than enough in my family to figure that one.
