Have you ever noticed that sometimes the one you seek has been there all along? Time, Circumstances, Distance, Closeness, & even the Ability to read each other so well, all work to keep you away from one another. The friendship is deep. Each knows what the other is thinking & each does their best to deny it.

He knows what triggers you. You know what triggers him. And yet, the pain from the past which really has nothing to do with either of you, pops up to help you both deny what you are feeling. One wants admission, the other doesn't know how to give it. He needs to know, first, before he will take her where he knows she wants to go.

The other wants to be taken, out of themselves, to be seduced & swept away to a place where words no longer have a need to be spoken, where passion becomes the reality each is feeling, a place where feelings can no longer be denied. Neither wants to be vulnerable, & so in the end......each leaves, at least until the next time their paths cross, each regrets what didn't happen, but what they both wanted.

Not really looking for feedback, just some thoughts I felt like sharing somewhere. I hope no one minds.

I never noticed that phenomena. Wives tale...Similar to the mythical high school sweetheart...And having a lasting relationship when on the rebound.

My question is that if these things remain unspoken, who is to say that both people are on the same page?
Personally I think that George Clooney and I were destined to be together for life. I know it, he knows it, now if only we could meet.

Thank You for sharing. Not to be more of a wet blanket than anyone else here, there is a reason (believe it or not) that Y/you two have never crossed that line. It isn't the same for everyone, but someone put it there.

I still at least weekly marvel at how stupid I was to not rope my partner in before I did, to not move in when he invited me, to not see the obvious fabulousness before me and risk it being taken away.

Luckily I eventually got smart enough to get him to move with me :)

In my opinion, NO this is not unicornish, or a wive's tale, I am experiencing exactly what you spelled out MissIsis, to the letter. I don't know what is waiting for me at the end of this road, but I am making the most of the journey till I get there.

I am there.

We have a seven year relationship that started as a very close friendship. When we started, neither was looking for more than fun and games, and over time it deepened. When we realized what was happening we both freaked out a bit...first him, then me....we have each tried to walk away and could not. We finally stopped fighting against the fear, and now I am owned by my best friend, my heart and my soul mate.

Life is really good.

Bummer... I forgot to mention I also feel some kismet with Gerard Butler and Brad Pitt. I am just waiting for Angelina to toss him aside for her brother.

There's risk in all we do. If you don't take chances, how will you learn and grow? You can choose to play it safe but, in my opinion safe is boring and you always wonder 'what if?', that's no way to live.

LOL I don't recall anywhere where I said don't take chances. Are you saying I should stalk George, Brad and Gerard? Actually,.. I have met George when he was younger. He must have forgotten. I guess that might not have happened if I had stalked him.

i discovered that the person i was destined to be with was at first the person i was destined to turn away from. It took hardship and alot of tears before we both became who we are today, and are able to not only share but truly appreciate the amazing bond we now have. Do i ever wish we hadn't had to go through all the hard times first? Sure... but would i be the same person i am now? Nope. So here's to the mysterious powers that be, and their unseen touches in our lives.

Heh.. I regret nothing. Even the bad stuff made me who I am. <g> And I did talk to him he had a nice voice but his eyes wandered. LOL of course that may have been because of the stacked blond behind me.
