FangsNfeet -> George Cloony for President? (4/6/2008 5:53:28 AM)

Any predictions here that Cloony will get into politics in the next 10 years and become president within the following 10 year? He seems to be following a Ronald Regan pattern becoming a little more of a political advocate each day.

George Clooney for president... how lovely would that be? Imagine how great he would be for US foreign relations: the man's a born diplomat. Charm never hurts; I'm not sure that there's a tremendous amount of substance there, but hey! He's full of good intentions.

You got me carried away with this fantasy. Alas, it will never happen.

Back to our regular programming: electioneering warfare [8|] .

Aww that would be good, I actually think that he has increadable vision, and he is an increadable vision (see what I did there)

the man's a born diplomat.

quote:

Clooney stirred up controversy for remarks he made about Charlton Heston at a 2003 National Board of Review event. "Charlton Heston announced again today that he is suffering from Alzheimer's." (Heston had publicly announced his diagnosis the previous year.[42])

When asked if he went too far with his remarks, Clooney responded, "I don't care. Charlton Heston is the head of the National Rifle Association; he deserves whatever anyone says about him." [43]

Heston himself commented, "It just goes to show that sometimes class does skip a generation," referring to Clooney's late aunt, Rosemary Clooney. [44]

Heston further commented on the Clooney "joke": "I don't know the man — never met him, never even spoken to him, but I feel sorry for George Clooney — one day he may get Alzheimer's disease. I served my country in World War II. I survived that — I guess I can survive some bad words from this fellow".[45]

Clooney said he subsequently apologized to Heston in a letter, and that he received a positive response from Heston's wife.[5]

At least he finally apologized.

With the above as an exception, I generally like Clooney.

"Well, you've had a clown the last few years - why not an actor?"

Funny how things come round in circles - or would that be downward spirals.......

Level, mutual cattiness is quite acceptable within the acting profession. As a matter of fact, it's expected of actors, therefore it wasn't necessary for George to apologise to Charlton, but he did!

I think it corroborates my opinion that he is an AMAZING diplomat. As are you, Level :-D .

LadyEllen -> RE: George Cloony for President? (4/6/2008 6:15:09 AM)

Now I know animals are against TOS Level, but I'm not sure about vegetation bans; maybe we need a Mod to adjudicate on whether its permissible to mention dicking taters?

Bah, that pussy, there is only one actor capable of doing that properly (as you have the bed luck that Schwarzi wasn’t  born in the States) .. [8D] [:D]

Sheki - I foresee a time when that particular ban may well be lifted for that particular man........

If there had been more men like me around, do you think there ever would have been an Irish Potato Famine? I think not.

There wasnt actually a shortage in Ireland - it was just that the spuds were being bought up by the English, so the whole thing was down to dick taters!
